Summer Ratcliff is the Program Director of the National Journalism Center, a project of Young America’s Foundation. Summer is a graduate of West Virginia University, with a bachelor’s degree in political science, law and legal studies. She is currently completing her graduate degree in integrated marketing and communications online through West Virginia University.
While an undergraduate, Summer was a staff writer, and later city editor, for The Daily Athenaeum, West Virginia University’s on-campus newspaper. She was also involved in student government, served as a student advocate for legislative advancement at the West Virginia state capitol, student ambassador for the university, and director of field services for a campaign. Summer also interned through the National Journalism Center in 2013 as an editorial assistant at Voice of America - Broadcasting Board of Governors.
Summer is a West Virginia native, proud Mountaineer sports fan and enjoys archery, hunting, fitness and cooking.
