Every GOP Governor Should Replicate Florida's Parental Rights Law

The results are in, and Florida's Parental Rights in Education is incredibly popular with Americans. What's more, the popularity stretches across all political identifications.

Now, let's be clear, the poll conducted by Public Opinion Strategies did not ask Americans if they supported Florida's "Don't Say Gay" bill because, of course, there's no such thing as a "Don't Say Gay" bill... it's a media and left-wing activist myth.

Instead, the poll asks Americans if they support a law that says: "Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in Kindergarten through third grade or in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards."

That is the actual language of the completely reasonable statute that radical activists, newspaper editors and executives at Disney insist on calling "Don't Say Gay."

And when the American people are asked their opinion about this simple notion, the response is overwhelming.

Two-thirds of parents nationwide support the actual language of the bill, and a full 55% of Democrats are in favor of it. At a time when Americans are yearning for something that most of us can agree on (other than Will Smith being a jerk), we've finally stumbled upon it.

Most Americans agree that 4-year-olds should not receive inappropriate classroom instruction related to gender identity and sexual orientation, just as the demonized and lied-about "Don't Say Gay" law states.

Governor Ron DeSantis has tapped into a popular and undeniably rational issue that Democrats, God love 'em, have decided to scream bloody murder over. Not only do they continue to insist on lying about the actual law, but in their vociferous opposition from the floor of the House of Representatives to panel talk shows on cable news to Hollywood stars on stage at the Oscars, the organized activist left has gone all-in on opposing this reasonable law and, by extension, the reasonable voters who support it.

This is what many in the political game would call an opportunity.

It's time for every Republican governor and Republican-led legislature in America to adopt a bill in their states using the same language as the Florida bill. Why wouldn't they?

The vast majority of Americans support it. It is imminently reasonable and rational, and Democrats continue to oppose it at histrionic and epic levels.

This is a freaking slam-dunk.
