You know, I have a lot of problems with Senator Mitch McConnell. I think that he is soft on policy, but he's also hard as rocks as a person. He's hard on us conservatives. He finds it personally offensive that we want to have a say in what goes on in Congress. He thinks he should do it. But he's also the best legislative tactician and strategist we have had in, I don't know, ever. Look, we have to be objective about things. Just because you don't like somebody doesn't mean they are terrible at what they do. The worst-case scenario is someone you don't like who is really good at what he does. And I think that is a reasonable way to characterize Mitch McConnell. McConnell drove us crazy but he also did very good things. The Merrick Garland thing, every single day, proves the wisdom of McConnell stopping him from being a Supreme Court Justice. But the question now is, who follows Mitch?
