The evils of the country of Russia are well known. From their human rights abuses of their citizens, silencing of voices of oppositions and political opponents, and now the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, they are one of the most authoritarian countries in the world today. However, it seems as if they have become a scapegoat over the last ten years by warmongers on the right and, more recently, by hypocrites on the left. President Joe Biden and Democrats nationwide have blamed everything on the ongoing conflict, including gas prices, destabilization of the country, approval ratings, and foreign policy disasters have all been thrown over to blame President Vladimir Putin and the Russian government. No one is here to defend Russia. Most Americans are adamantly against the authoritarian head of state and his military invading Ukraine. However, the constant accusation of the left lying about conservatives and anti-interventionists propping up Russia just because they do not want their country being involved in yet another endless war is disingenuous and tiresome.

Accusations against former President Donald Trump sustained from 2015 until the modern era, while no severe allegations or actions were proven even by some of the most prominent federal department officials in the country during multiple investigations. It seems as if whatever Trump did against Russia or in his anti-intervention foreign policy did not matter to those that opposed him, as constant lies from figures such as Biden, Hillary Clinton, and multiple mainstream media outlets continued to be treated as the main story for seven long years. While nothing, quite literally nothing was ever proven that Trump worked with the Russians to win the 2016 election, these accusations were talked about more than his middle east foreign policy victories, his diplomacy in Europe, or even his meeting prioritizing peace with North Korea. Even today, the lie that Trump was some Russian asset without any justification continues to be treated as valid.

These lies about certain conservatives propping up Russian propaganda have continued to be a tool of the left and neoconservative war hawks who want our military to be put at risk against a world superpower. Even former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard was placed in the crosshairs of Republican Senator Mitt Romney after she spoke out about being anti-regime change war, calling her comments “treasonous.” As she always has, Tulsi talked about how the United States government had funded Biolabs in Ukraine, which she alluded to why several interventionist federal officials call for American involvement in the conflict. Rand Paul was taken under criticism by John McCain after his vote blocking a treaty for Montenegro’s membership in NATO. Paul has been a critic of his entire career regarding the United States’ membership. McCain accused Paul of “working for Vladimir Putin” in one of the most unhinged and insane proclamations ever made on the Senate floor. Unstained arguments that anyone against American interference within this conflict continues to be aimed towards congress members such as Madison Cawthorn. Cawthorn went anti-Ukraine with his comments at a private event, using talking points to criticize the Ukrainian government propping up “woke and progressive values and policies. From social media and Democratic response, you would have thought that Cawthorn must’ve volunteered to serve in the Russian military by simply acknowledging the known governing nature of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which is known as progressive and anti-conservative. The fact that action was called on to House Leader Kevin McCarthy to punish Cawthorn for simply criticizing another country’s president’s policies is an insane development. Still, it is not surprising when anti-war conservatives have been a target of the establishment and warmongers for the last decade or more.

Per usual, truth does not seem to matter to the left. They are willing to embrace an interventionist foreign policy solely to save their Biden and the Democrats’ chances of re-election because nothing is as popular as a wartime president and their party. For once, it was proven that a President does not have to get into war every time there is an opportunity to jump in by Trump not getting into any new wars. The country needs to get long past the times of fighting another Cold War or worse just because bureaucrats in Washington want to continue lying about conservatives being pro-Russia. The lies that continue to be propped up by this administration need to cease and be serious about governing for the first time in over two years. There is no need for war with Russia, and it is not Russian propaganda to say that.
