The only thing Democrats love more than power and money is abortion, and they really, really love power and money. So when the opportunity came about to combine their loves, it was a match made in hell they couldn’t pass up. Democrats went right for the wallets, even before the ink on the story about the leaked draft abortion opinion was dry and they haven’t stopped since.
The level of ignorance of how our government works, or at least is supposed to, is shocking. I’m not sure there is a single non-elected liberal in the country who knows that if Roe v Wade were overturned it would not immediately make abortion illegal everywhere. We’ve become so used to the federal government overreaching its power that many American have completely forgotten about the power of states, or even the existence of them when it comes to the way the Constitution is written.
The states created the federal government, the federal government did not create the states. That should help people realize where the power is supposed to be, but many don’t care. Progressive leftists are all about power and concept of federalism is an obstacle to that. You end up with a bunch of dumb people looking to the federal government to solve the problems that not only a local government is set up and better suited to solve, but also for solutions to problems no government can solve, things adults have to take care of themselves.
With so much emotion and ignorance wrapped up into one issue, you can imagine just how excited Democrats were to start fundraising off the draft opinion from Justice Samuel Alito. How they are choosing to do it is odd, but shows just how dumb their donors are.
The left is using Justice Brett Kavanaugh to raise money more than Alito, who actually drafted the document. The reason for this is pretty simple: Democrats are scared, emotional creatures who, at the end of the day, are dumb. They have no sense of history and very little knowledge of events that happened in their lifetime. Alito was confirmed to the Court in 2006, Kavanaugh in 2018. Democrats can’t remember what they were told to be outraged over during the Alito confirmation hearings, they’ve moved on to hundreds of outrages since then.

Kavanaugh wasn’t that long ago, and the left went all-in to try to stop that, lying about anything and everything. Democrats remember that. So it makes sense that he’d be the lighting rod. They aren’t honest, so truth doesn’t matter. All liberals want is the rage, where it’s directed doesn’t really matter.
Under the subject line “Brett Kavanaugh is SEETHING,” the group “Stop Republicans” writes, “FIRST: The Supreme Court LEAKED a draft opinion that showed Kavanaugh & his conservatives voted to OVERTURN Roe v. Wade. THEN: Elizabeth Warren introduced the Judiciary Act to add FOUR new justices and make Brett Kavanaugh powerless. This could help save Roe v. Wade - he’s SEETHING! NOW: We only need 70,000 donations by Monday to help PASS Warren’s GENIUS bill. Derek, can you spare $5?”
I can, in fact, spare $5. But I wouldn’t give it to a left-wing group if it was guaranteed to save their lives.
But you see they’ve made Kavanaugh the monster here even though he didn’t write anything. The people they’re appealing to are too stupid to realize they’re being manipulated, too dumb to know there is number of donations that will change the make up of the Senate and allow for court-packing.
Another email from the same group 12 hours later read, “WE TOLD YOU: Passing the Judiciary Act would help SAVE Roe v. Wade, voting rights, and MORE! WE TOLD YOU: almost no one -- seriously, NO ONE -- has donated. WE TOLD YOU: If we succeed, Brett Kavanaugh will be FURIOUS!! So this is your FINAL chance to do the right thing! We are just 54,377 gifts away from reaching our goal, can you please donate IMMEDIATELY?”
The subject line was “we’re begging on our hands and knees.”
Did they reach their goal? It doesn’t matter because it was never really the goal. They likely got some idiots to add to their credit card debt and make these “activists” richer. You’ll never go broke using stupid tactics to get money out of liberals, at least until they go broke. But none of it will have any impact on whatever the Supreme Court ends up deciding. That anyone thinks it could is a testament to just how dumb some people are and how corrupt the people who feed off them can be.
