DNC PR Firm – WASHINGTON POST

  • We are curious about whether his possible guilt is a factor at all?

Remember four indictments handed down on Donald Trump? Recall “No one is above the law”?? How about that chestnut about holding the powerful accountable???

At the Washington Post, they seem to have tossed those bromides aside as blithely as they dropped the “Democracy Dies In Darkness” tag line, as they instead rise to the defense of a troubled politician. That they choose to go to bat for one as inept as Eric Swalwell only makes the decision more amusing, and yet there they are, shielding the gubernatorial hopeful while condemning FBI Director Kash Patel for…doing his job.

Apparently, the problem is not a man on the House Committee on Homeland Security, possibly having improper relations with a Chinese spy, but with the head of the FBI investigating the matter.

Presentation Paradox – NBC NEWS

  • Sure, they disputed it, but still…

Just on the surface, this report by NBC News is an odd one. They claim ICE agents are going to be poised outside of Marine graduation ceremonies. The reason is that, supposedly, there will be an effort to target potential family members who may be illegal aliens.

If this sounds slightly screwy, just wait. Both the accounts of ICE and DHS have categorically called this a false news item. But moreover, inside the report itself, they have a DHS spokesperson flatly disputing the claim.

  • A DHS spokesperson said any suggestion that ICE would make arrests was false. "ICE will not be making arrests at the basic training graduation in Paris Island, SC,” the spokesperson said.

And still, they went with the garbage report.

News Avoidance Syndrome – NEW YORK TIMES

  • For Dave, apparently, history began in January.

Prepare to be shocked, gang: David French had a mentally imbalanced hot take about the president!

Relying on a slanted post, listing off several alleged abuses of the 1st Amendment, Davie stated that Trump was the worst ever seen when it comes to free expression.

And as always happens in cases such as this, it is up to others (namely, us) to do the heavy lifting. So here are a few of the ways Joe Biden has lapped President Trump regarding free speech.

1st Amendment Strike Force – NPR / PBS

  • Does he not know we can see their content?

The people who wanted No Kings are sure pleased with a rogue judge overstepping his diminutive power base. His Honor Randolph Moss decreed that the executive order to defund National Public Radio, Public Broadcasting Service, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting was a violation of the First Amendment, in his mind, and needs to be restored. A couple of problems.

For starters, this was a budget passage that was handed down by Congress in the Big Beauty of last summer. This is a judge attempting to override Congress. Secondly, it is hard to see the 1-A violation when, in the case of both NPR and PBS, they are to this day still broadcasting freely.

Gilded Reframe – NEW YORK TIMES

  • Celebrating how quickly they fixed their blatant errors is the faintest self-praise to be found.

Over the weekend, there was a dose of contretemps with the administration and the New York Times. The Undersecretary for Economic Growth, Energy and Environment, Jacob Helberg, took issue with a New York Times piece that misquoted Helberg. The Undersecretary came out on social media with his full video of his comments as a form of refuting the errors. He even made the comment that before posting, he submitted some requests to the paper that had gone unaddressed, so he gave his unedited comments.

The Times later responded with a post celebrating how it had issued corrections in a timely fashion. This (less than) humble brag does not explain how the multiple errors were published, especially when video of Helberg’s comments was available.

Anti-Social Behavior – BLUESKY

  • Almost seems worse to be attacked like this by the people who are on your side.

When the “Great” Bluesky Migration took place, the raft of left-wing accounts flocking to that site were declaring that X had become too toxic, and they sought a more inclusive realm for their viewpoints. Then, almost immediately, that place became a hive of restrictive eating-their-own social cannibals.

A perfect example of this is on the account of leftist SCOTUS reporter Mark Stern, who finds that as he is merely delivering reports on the rulings, he becomes the focus of personal attacks for the act of detailing what took place.
