Body Checking the Fact-Checkers – THE NEW YORK TIMES

There are numerous examples of the press becoming unglued over Donald Trump's Cabinet selections, and this one might typify the absence of calm factual reporting being ignored and instead going with an emotional approach. Regarding the announcement of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the head of Health and Human Services, The New York Times rushed out with this angry approach…to cereal.

Kennedy at one point noted how Froot Loops sold in the U.S. had more artificial ingredients than what is sold in the Canadian version, and The Times refuted this, by…showing he was accurate:

Mr. Kennedy has singled out Froot Loops as an example of a product with too many artificial ingredients, questioning why the Canadian version has fewer than the U.S. version,” read the original print of The New York Times’ reporting. “But he was wrong. The ingredient list is roughly the same, although Canada’s has natural colorings made from blueberries and carrots while the U.S. product contains red dye 40, yellow 5 and blue 1 as well as Butylated hydroxytoluene, or BHT, a lab-made chemical that is used ‘for freshness,’ according to the ingredient label.”

After being roundly mocked over this, the piece has been updated, now suggesting Kennedy was discussing the total of all ingredients, and therefore, was inaccurate, while still showing the U.S. version using dyes and preservatives.

Legalized Press-titution – MSNBC

  • Sooo…you went and had an audience with Hitler…

Last week, we mentioned how Joe and Mika, on "Morning Joe," had screeched the tires when they stood on the brakes in their outrage and announced that they were now open to having on their program members of the incoming Republican Party. So, after a year of near-daily promises that Trump was ushering in the latest version of Nazism, now they are willing to entertain those placed in The Third Reich.

Well – it just got better. This morning came the announcement that boggles just about everyone; Scar-Joe and his bride actually sat in with the president-elect sometime this weekend.

Reporting on the Mirror – MSNBC

  • Well, how very unbiased of you, Ms. Newswoman.

As MSNBC is dissolving in the ratings after the election, this announcement from Scar-Joe and Mika has led to many on the left expressing outrage and new pledges to refrain from supporting the show. Along with that have been comments that even some inside "Morning Joe" are dismayed that they went and sat with Trump.

And, at least one on-air hostess has gone public with her opposition to this move.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – NBC NEWS

  • One question; have you even looked for this evidence that does not exist?

Kristen Welker continues to bring "Meet the Press" to levels beneath those seen when Chuck Todd ran the show. For her latest, Welker was talking with Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin about Trump's supposed use of the Department of Justice to attack his enemies. In attempting to refute this hot talking point in the press, Senator Mullin noted how Trump never did so in his prior term, but that Joe Biden has, in fact, done so. Welker became perturbed and jumped in, stating that there is "no evidence" of Biden involving himself in the DOJ cases against Trump.

As we have previously covered, Biden is most certainly directly involved in the four indictments brought against Trump over the past years.

Stealth Story Evolution – THE NEW YORKER

  • Seems the Swamp Class in D.C. deserves some kind of apology, Jane.

One of the items on the list of things Trump is doing to make heads explode in the nation's capital is the prospect of making recess appointments for some of his selections. Jane Mayer came out with a post that said Senator Mitch McConnell, at a D.C. function over the weekend, had declared that he would not allow the recess insertions of certain figures.

This had many exploding over the rift in the GOP until a few sane people began to point out that Mitch is not the Senate leader at the moment, and that he will not be chairing the chamber come January.

Mayer has since deleted her post, and there have been no notifications from her nor her outlet regarding this claim made by the reporter.
