Both Kinds of Standards – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • Sure, this outbreak is bigger involving numerous viruses, but this is (D)ifferent.

It was just a couple of weeks ago when numerous news outlets shared the chorus that Florida was under the dark cloud of a measles outbreak, and how Governor Ron DeSantis was responsible. The facts were that there had been all of nine cases, it had been contained, and the last reported incident had been weeks ago.

Now comes word out of Chicago that in the holding facilities for the immigrant arrivals, there are dozens of cases in numerous locations, and other maladies such as tuberculosis are erupting as well. The lack of any true outrage in the press over these troubling numbers has to be in the protection of the president and his lax border policies.

Gilded Reframe – MULTIPLE OUTLETS

  • Do no journalists understand what this means?

Word has come down that in the court case of the individual who has been charged with stealing Ashley Biden’s diary, the initial sentence recommendation of six months of house arrest has been thrown in limbo, as the Justice Department has stepped in and recommended the judge deliver a  ten month jail sentence.

What goes unsaid in all of the energetic reporting on the development is how the press has been acting as media mynah birds and repeating the Biden administration’s claim the diary was not real. This sentencing then confirms its validity, making the disturbing claims about Biden more valid.

Anti-Social Media – CBS NEWS

  • Who do they complain to about the mistreatment of a journalist?!

After enduring the abrupt dismissal from the news division of CBS, Catherine Herridge has been revealing a number of issues she has had to contend with, including the network confiscating her personal effects and notes, including her contact information on confidential sources.

Now, Herridge is primed to reveal more details on this issue, as she is scheduled to appear before Congress next week in a hearing regarding the protection of journalists and their sources. Herridge is currently in a court battle where she has been compelled to reveal a source from her time working at Fox News.

Presentation Paradox – NBC NEWS

NBC News has a sympathetic approach to the deplorable act of Israel bombing the universities in Gaza. On Xitter, it delivered a lengthy thread to promote the feature with all manner of sympathetic wording. The piece itself is a lengthy pictorial with sorrowful tones about how this is a significant impactful loss for Gaza.

But nestled deep in this mourning is this little nugget that might explain why Israel dares to be so mean and dastardly toward the education of the Palestinians:

It hailed the assault, saying the buildings and surrounding areas were used by Hamas “above and below ground” for training and to develop weapons.

Democratic Custodial Services – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • Just look at the numbers, no need to analyze the metrics.

The latest jobs figures for March have been released, and the press is in full-throat crowing about how great they appear to be. The key word there — “appear.”

The bulk of the full-time jobs went to government workers, and full-time was absolutely dwarfed by the bulk of the jobs being part-time.
