Legalized Press-titution – MSNBC
Over at Axios, their resident Biden-snuggler is Alex Thompson, and you have to wonder if he was feeling pangs of jealousy as he reported on how Joe Biden adores the MSNBC daybreak show, "Morning Joe." It is notable how, in Thompson's entire piece, there is no air of ruefulness, no critiques about journalistic impropriety, or anything else in the form of concern or contempt.
This seems to be in direct opposition to anything we have seen in the past regarding Donald Trump and Fox News, specifically that network's own morning program. Somehow, "Fox & Friends" feting the president was seen as a threat to the nation.

Low Octane Gas Lighting – CNN

Killing the planet over whale crap seems unwise, Bill.
It was a few months ago when Bill Weir, CNN's climate expert and constant harpy about using fossil fuels, was in Argentina to deliver an on-the-spot climate report…using stock footage. When he was called out for his travels of 6,600 miles, he dismissed it as needed because he was filming a documentary in Antarctica. Well, that footage is coming to light.
He was collecting whale crap.
He told the assembled CNN group about his trip and then joked at the end about his "frequent flier miles." Look, if you are not taking a sailboat down to the area, then I am not about to suffer through a polemic about how I'm the one killing the planet. Get on a solar-powered tramp steamer, Billy, or shut up about anyone else's carbon footprint.
Remember that 6,600 mile trip CNN climate warrior Bill Weir took to Argentina Antarctica to study whales? Well his report on whale poop has finally arrived, "I cashed in a lot of frequent flyer miles, and then used coupons." pic.twitter.com/RbpgWKrzRQ

Anti-Social Media – LOS ANGELES TIMES
You all know that massive layoffs just took place at the Los Angeles Times, correct? We just wanted to remind you, in case. Because that paper is suffering currently. For a valid reason, it seems.
Now, how on Earth is this paper losing tens of millions, and laying off 1/3 of its staff?!?!?! pic.twitter.com/BbIYcDSqHj

Pre-Written Field Reports – CNN
That sounds like some harsh facts in opposition to our narrative, better toss to commercial!
The press is still trying to grapple with the story out of New York, where a gang of illegal immigrants attacked police. They want to favor the cops, but they also have to support immigration, but the severity of the crime is important, but then the DA releasing them with no charges is also a problematic detail.
As CNN attempted to work through these news brambles, Erica Hill was listening in as John Miller was detailing how these immigrants are so organized that they steal and rob in New York, then travel to Florida, and return to New York when the money runs out. Miller continued, explaining that he spoke with officials and asked why the immigrants simply do not stay in Florida and rob some more. He was told because, there, when they get arrested, they go to jail.
The stunned silence from Hill is too precious, and they then stumble and have to cut away.

CNN's Erica Hill quite literally stunned speechless after CNN's John Miller said migrants steal in NY, spend in FL, but return to NY because they'll actually be held accountable in the sunshine state:

News Avoidance Syndrome – PHILADELPHIA ENQUIRER
Note the newsman who is bothered when a story becomes national news.
Another example of how difficult this immigrants-beating-cops story is for the press comes from columnist Will Bunch. He looks at the case becoming a widespread news item and laments that this is taking place, blaming the Murdoch-owned New York Post for making this bigger than it should be.
These migrants who got into clash with some NYPD officers -- I can see why it would be a local story but why is the national media obsessing over it? And why is Rupert Murdoch's NY post driving the conversation

This is what a moral panic looks like
The case of a group of people from another country committing violence against police is a "local" story, you understand. Also, if creating a "moral panic" over a local story is considered wrong, perhaps Will could explain how it was the press made issues out of local stories involving George Floyd, Tyre Nichols, Ahmaud Arbery, Trayvon Martin, etc. and created moral panics.
