News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS
News is coming out of Wall Street that the green energy company Proterra is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. This is the company that was said to revolutionize public transportation with electric municipal bus lines.
It is also the company in which Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm had formerly been a major investor when she joined the administration. She divested of her shares upon her confirmation to the position, but not before President Biden first raved about the company as a green energy entity, and VP Harris gave a similar speech at another green company that was a Proterra subsidiary. This rather convenient set of timing maneuvers is not at all questioned in today’s press corps.
Here is my 4-act play outline, entitled "The Green In The Sun", opening at the Washington Stage Guild, on Massachusetts Ave., this September! pic.twitter.com/c60Zod2Vry

Artisanally-Crafted Narratives – NBC NEWS
Recommended
- Correcting him does not make the claim accurate, Ms. Burns.
In a shift from his prior position to not entertain NBC News reporters until Andrea Mitchell corrects the record on her false charge that Florida schools were eliminating the teaching of black history (to this point, she has not made such a correction), Ron DeSantis agreed to a sit-down interview with Dasha Burns. In the course of the discussion, abortion was brought up, and, in referencing the specter of late-term abortions, the “unbiased” Burns tried to correct the Florida governor and declare that no Democrats were lobbying for abortion up to the day of birth.
Not only is this patently false, but NBC also cut DeSantis' response to this wildly inaccurate claim. (The outlet subsequently replaced the segment when DeSantis answered her back.)
In this thread, Curtis Houck gives numerous examples of the late-term push from various states and legislators.
NBC's Dasha Burns, pants on fire, telling @RonDeSantis that "[t]here’s no evidence of Democrats pushing for abortions up until" birth & "there's no indication" they are "pushing for that."

DNC PR Firm – THE WEATHER CHANNEL
- The clips of Biden trying to navigate the green screen maps are going to be priceless!
One of the hallmarks of Biden's tenure to this point has been the recidivist avoidance of the media. Hardly any pressers take place, his time in front of the press is managed stringently, and the few interviews Biden does grant are done in deeply friendly confines. (Waves to Stephanie Rhule.)
In a move that certainly is considered wise by the administration, the president will be sitting for an interview tomorrow morning on...The Weather Channel.
The guise is this will be a chance for Biden to push his climate agenda, on the network whose founder once publicly declared climate change to be a garbage theory. The reality is this will only prove to underscore the critiques that President Jose needs protective environments in order to appear on camera. So no, Jim Cantore will not be grilling the President on Hunter’s issues nor his seventh grandchild.

Legalized Press-titution – NBC NEWS
One thing we can be assured about, this year’s White House Christmas party will see NBC’s Jonathan Allen in attendance. Allen has secured himself an invitation thanks to this fawning piece of rueful presidential coverage where he bemoans the fact that President Biden is suffering a blow to his public persona as a result of his political rivals.
Yes, this is a lengthy piece that essentially is a “Republicans Pounce” rendition, as less time is spent on the Biden scandals and more on how the GOP notices these problems.
That Allen frets over the damage to the president’s brand and is not concerned with the contents of the package says everything here.
But the burnish on Biden’s brand is being tested like never before, ahead of a close 2024 election. Some of the president’s Democratic allies are worried about potential fallout from a confluence of family drama that’s spilled into public view and from Republican attacks that cut at the bedrock of Biden’s longtime political appeal.
Be sure to seek out the mistletoe in the East Wing, Jon – I am positive Mrs. Dr. First Lady Jill Biden will deliver an appreciative pucker this holiday season.

Presentation Paradox – CNN
- Only certain politics and donations are permitted in sports.
Former ESPN fixture Rachel Nichols has landed from her unceremonious plunge onto the airwaves at CNN. As a sign of how much of a step down this is, she went from covering professional sports events live and interviewing major athletes in person to...doing remote work with Jim Acosta.
Rachel and Abilio were discussing the dire news that the Orlando Magic as a team sent a political donation to Ron DeSantis via a PAC. Rachel is doing severe work here to prove herself worthy of the network, admonishing this donation, as if players being socially vocal and displaying activism on the court is the ONLY acceptable method of political activism.
On CNN, discussing the difference between a player or an individual team owner supporting a political candidate vs a donation on behalf of the whole team: "The money the Orlando Magic donated to Ron DeSantis doesn't come from a magic tree elf. It comes from the work of players on… pic.twitter.com/0yMIm2Q4d5
