Everything that the president does elicits a response from his detractors, one that is as predictable as the sun rising in the East.
If one is a normal, freedom-loving American, it’s hard to say anything good about Nicolás Maduro, the newest federal prisoner in Brooklyn.
- He facilitated the movement of endless tons of drugs into the United States
- As a result of the same, unknown thousands of Americans died every year
- He ran his country into the ground, to the point where people were eating their pets
- He sent his worst from jails and mental asylums to the U.S. under the Biden “Everyone Is Welcome” program
- He was aligned with America’s enemies, such as Iran, China, and Russia
- He was a violent communist thug who ruled over his people through force and fear
- He kept financially afloat Cuba, a country that still lives the communist dream, 90 miles from Florida
- He continued the work of his predecessor, who nationalized American assets and effectively stole American wealth.
- He was a lousy dancer
Based on all of the above, the sudden announcement of his arrest should have been hailed by anyone in a free and democratic country as a wonderful piece of news. The fact that the various branches of the armed forces worked together and did so flawlessly is a reason for great pride. Getting rid of a communist dictator should be reason for celebration. And while for many it was, for others it was not. The “Usual Suspects” denounced President Trump and his exceptional move to pluck Maduro out of his home and onto a Navy amphibious assault ship. In the past, Democrats simply opposed anything that Trump did because he was Trump. Now, they oppose him because they actually hate the United States and its values embodied in the U.S. Constitution. An enemy of the United States? He must be on our side.
After my arrival in Israel, I was shocked to find fully-paid Knesset members who were rooting for Israel’s destruction at the hands of Palestinian and other terrorists. Israeli Arabs typically send between 10 and 15 representatives to the Knesset, out of a total body of 120. Some have actively stated their support for Assad’s Syria, Hezbollah, and Hamas. Many were not shy in attacking the very state that paid them handsomely and guaranteed them a fat retirement package. I had never experienced actual traitors in the representative body of a country. One went so far as to provide Hezbollah with sensitive data and fled the country for Syria. In the past, Democrats and Republicans disagreed on a lot of issues, but I would never have accused veterans McGovern, McCain, or Carter of being anti-American. I might not like their vision of a more European America, but they were patriots through and through. Not so today. Ilhan Omar says that “her country” is Somalia. Rashida Tlaib should be serving her constituents in Ramallah.
The same people can protest Maduro’s arrest on outstanding drug charges, Israel’s defensive war to protect its citizens, the use of fossil fuels to power a modern economy, and the right of entrepreneurs to become billionaires when they succeed. It always seems like the same people, whether in Congress or out on the streets. It is obvious that the people who attacked Teslas and wore keffiyehs to pro-Hamas marches are paid protesters. The signs whipped up to denounce Maduro’s free, all-expenses paid, one-way ticket with his wife for a unique New York honeymoon were all the same wherever Soros, Inc. and their partners could organize “protests.” You don’t hear a word from these clowns in support of the Iranian people taking enormous personal risks to enjoy the same freedom of expression that they use so often. You never see them supporting Israel’s right to protect its citizens from terror attacks. No, these folks don’t like the very values that allow them to legally protest. Somehow, they are enamored with an intolerant strain of Islam as peddled by Iran, Qatar, and the Muslim Brotherhood. If they lived in Qatar, they would not enjoy the right to protest. There would be many rights that they would forfeit. During a brief visit to China, I saw that YouTube, Google, and some other Western websites were disabled. Things we take for granted don’t exist in much of the world.
So, Donald Trump has become a human Rorschach test. Whatever he does leads to two predictable and obvious responses. MAGA folks very much supported the president in disabling Iran’s nuclear program, grabbing a narco-terrorist who pushed tons of drugs onto U.S. streets, establishing tariffs that even international trading playing fields, and forwarding other policies put in place by the 47th president. Those in Congress bellowed that the president did not have the right to use the armed forces to bomb Iran or pull Maduro and his pajamas out of bed. They never seemed to complain when Barack Obama incinerated folks all over the Middle East, including at least one American citizen. They said nothing when President Biden left the border open, while his flunkies lied at every opportunity to claim that it was hermetically sealed.
Those who gurgle, “From the River to the Sea” and “Intifada Revolution” cannot show the slightest revulsion at the torture and violence that Hamas terrorists documented during their rampage in southern Israel. Express disgust and then hate Israel. But they can’t. Their hatred of Jews is so total that women who reported sexual violence were not believed or supported by the supposed sisterhood of women believing women. From Caracas to Tehran, Jew haters claim that those pesky “Zionists” were somehow involved in the Maduro caper. I am not a member of Bibi Netanyahu’s inner, outer, or far distant circles, but it seems pretty obvious that General Caine and Pete Hegseth ran an amazing operation without any Israeli input or goading. Israel, being on the normal side of the Rorschach scale, applauded the removal of a dictator who gave free hand to Hezbollah to peddle narcotics, launder money, and produce drones for Iran. Israel had every reason to support the president’s actions. The only normal Democrat left in the U.S. Senate is John Fetterman, who can compliment the president without having to call one of the Soros family to be given his official opinion.
The funny thing is that those directly impacted by Donald Trump’s actions generally support the president by huge margins. Washingtonians are happy to be able to go out at night when National Guard soldiers are patrolling their streets. Venezuelans are dancing at the prospect of a brighter future with representative government. Those who suffered from illegal immigration are enjoying having their communities back in their own hands. So, while the professional protesters and their paid-off reps in government howl at anything the president does, those who actually are directly affected by his policies offer their thanks. Of late, we have seen Iranian protesters secretly expressing their thanks to Trump and Israel for their support. When the U.S. was offering Gazans food away from Hamas’ clutches, news broadcasts showed locals expressing their thanks to President Trump for the food that was distributed for free. AOC, Bernie Sanders, and their buddies don’t care about Venezuelans or Iranians being free. They care about opposing Trump and supporting ruthless dictators, like they hope one day to become. The removal of Maduro and the destruction of the mullahs should be something that everyone should appreciate as bringing good into the world. But there are those who will always fail their Rorschach tests because they had the answer in their head before they ever saw the image.
