The mainstream media may be celebrating Joe Biden’s victory now, but they won’t be when they realize the cottage industry focused on trashing President Donald Trump is about to disappear.

Love him or hate him, President Trump kept America and the world on the edge of their seats. For some, he was charming, funny, and entertaining. For others, he was a cartoon villain, a monster, and a ‘threat to democracy’ — but for all, he was someone they couldn’t take their eyes off. His presidency was magnetic. Every day there was something new and exciting for people to bicker and debate over. News sites flourished. It was the most politically active the public has been, possibly ever.

Because of this global fascination, people who would normally be considered nerdy and boring White House reporters became viral sensations. Suddenly, they were making the rounds on late night shows and penning best selling books with sensational headlines and alarm bells about a pending third World War.

April Ryan, for example, became something of a left-wing pop culture icon for constantly challenging the president and press secretaries from the briefing room chairs. Would anyone outside her friend circle have known her name if the world wasn’t obsessed with President Trump? Doubt it.

Many of these people, who would normally be making somewhere in the realm of $60K a year working at the Washington Post transcribing, became wealthy because of this obsession with the presidency. Careers were made from being outspoken members of the “resistance” replying to every tweet President Trump sent out. It was a tough show to no doubt impress friends at cushy Friday night dinners.

So, what are they going to do now? Jim Acosta, once a darling hero of the left, will soon be swooning over Biden’s dogs like he is a writer for Dog Fancy magazine. Surely that will not generate the same amount of interest as his petulant tirades and meltdowns in the briefing room. Without Trump, he, and many others, are no one. Even the left will only tune in for so many flowery interviews with Biden and his lackeys or fawning reports from the White House lawn.

In doing everything in their power to remove the president, they have removed their own cash cow and their ticket to celebrity. They will crawl back into irrelevancy and ratings will tank. Just you wait. Who will Bob Woodward write dramatic tales about to keep the income flowing now? Who will Rachel Maddow sell fear porn to? Will anyone watch CNN if they aren’t stuck waiting for a flight in the airport?

The careers and status of these anti-Trump lunatics are about to plummet, and they deserve it. I hope they managed to milk enough money to retire early.
