“What about China?  It’s a massive market with millions of Christians.”

That was a question I had asked a friend months ago who handles foreign rights for books and who was trying to help with my spiritual book titled:  The Forty Days – A Vision of Christ’s Lost Weeks.

“It’s a complete waste of time.  The Forty Days has already been banned in China.”

Banned in China?

My friend then recounted a conversation she had with a book-buyer in The People’s Republic of China stressing that the Communist leadership was in the midst of a nationwide crackdown on Christianity.

Flash ahead to now and it's much worse than anyone thought.  More details are now emerging as how, under President Xi Jinping – China’s most power leader since Mao – the Christian faith is increasingly under attack and persecution as Xi wages “the most severe systematic suppression of Christianity” in decades.

As the Associated Press continues to highlight, Christians in China now regularly have their gatherings raided, crosses destroyed, bibles burned, are interrogated, put under constant surveillance, and potentially worst of all, have their names and addresses tied to their faith by the Communist government.

All part of an intimidation program titled:  “Thought reform.”

As bad as things are for Christians in China, they are dramatically and horrifically worse in other parts of the world.

Be it North Korea, Iraq, Syria, Iran, the Sudan, or numerous other repressive regimes, Christians are regularly burned out of their homes, tortured, raped, mutilated, and murdered.

Only because of their faith.

Where are the leaders of the world joining together as one to condemn and fight against this genocide?

Where is most of the liberal mainstream media?

Since when did genocide and crimes against humanity become an issue which can be ignored for political or ideological reasons?

Contrary to what some on the left may have us believe, the Christian faith is the most persecuted religion in the world.  In over 144 countries, Christians are under some kind of constant attack.  Be it verbal, physical, or the complete destruction of their places of worship.  Eighty percent of all acts of religious discrimination are now directed at the Christian faith.

That tragic trend being underscored in a study by “Aid to the Church in Need,” the persecution and genocide of Christians across the world is worse today “Than at any time in history” as the faith is being “Targeted for Extinction.”

Targeted for Extinction.

A blood-chilling scream for help which elicits next to no reaction from many on the left here in the United States.

But…the once rumored “extinction” of a little Snail Darter fish saw them mobilizing as one across the country to attack “big business” while cashing in with various t-shirts, posters, and books.

Fighting the “extinction” of God’s little non-human creatures has since become a cottage industry to many liberal activists.

Fighting against the extinction of God’s innocent human Christians not so much.

Why do repressive governments and dictators fear Christianity so much?

Why do so many on the left go out of their way to attack the faith?

Why is the genocide of Christians not as important to the liberal media and liberal politicians as other genocides?

In April of 1992 the government of Serbia set out to ethnically cleanse the Bosnian territory of all Muslims.  Thousands of men, women, and children were slaughtered in the process.

The United States, NATO, and the United Nations rightfully joined together as one to stop this horrific genocide.

Muslims were being exterminated only because of their faith and the world cried out.

Today, Christians are being exterminated only because of their faith and the world remains silent.

Why?

Much of the persecution of Christians is taking place in Muslim-Majority nations.  Is the suffering of tens of thousands of men, women, and children being ignored or swept under the rug by the mainstream media because of some twisted form of political correctness?

No one should be targeted or killed because of their faith.  No one.  And yet, here we are.
