Four years ago, Donald Trump ran a campaign around a singular promise—to renew the American Dream. Today, the American spirit is stronger, more independent, and self-sufficient than ever. We are a net exporter of energy, and manufacturing jobs are coming back to our shores.
President Trump put America on the path to renewed greatness by cutting taxes for every citizen, ending wasteful government red tape, and by replacing NAFTA with the landmark United States - Mexico - Canada Agreement (USMCA).
This modernized trade agreement brings good-paying jobs back to our communities and ensures our trading partners uphold fair practices, including protection for intellectual property. President Trump will always stand up for our brilliant innovators and stand up to countries like China who seek to steal and pirate our technology.
At the end of the day, President Trump and his administration is keeping the promise to put America First. Indiana, like so many states in the heartland, relies on good manufacturing jobs to put food on the table. These jobs are the lifeblood of our economy.
For decades, working families were hollowed out by administrations past that pushed our jobs offshore. In Congress, Democrats have done everything they can to hold our country back over the last four years. Nancy Pelosi and her liberal allies in the House have impeded our work and divided our country at great cost.
House Democrats even held the USMCA hostage for months as they pursued a partisan impeachment sham while our nation’s manufacturers and farmers were put on the back burner.
President Trump stayed the course and got the USMCA approved. Our promise to hardworking Americans has been kept.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, President Trump’s pro-America, pro-growth policies added 7 million jobs to our economy, whereas the Obama-Biden Administration told us that our manufacturing jobs would never come back.
The unemployment rate dropped to levels unseen in half a century. The unemployment rates for African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Asian Americans all reached record lows under President Trump before the pandemic artificially shut down our economy.
Despite our ongoing battle with COVID-19, America is stronger and more prosperous because of President Trump.
President Trump built the greatest economy the world has ever known, and he’ll do it again. He will continue to fight for the American People.
