House and Senate Budget Committee Chairmen Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Patty Murray (D-WA) are working to craft a budget deal before the December 13th deadline. "The best we can hope for in this round is a small bargain that perhaps tweaks sequestration, allows for a little more flexibility over the short-term, maybe two at best, and even that modest goal is proving to be a heavy lift before that December thirteenth deadline" Bloomberg's Peter Cook said.
