9 Previously Deported Illegal Aliens Indicted After Routine Traffic Stop

Earlier this month, authorities in Eureka, MO arrested 14 individuals suspected of being illegal aliens after all occupants of the vehicle were unable to provide proper paperwork nor could speak English while being questioned. On Thursday, nine of those individuals were indicted "for unlawful re-entry into the United States because they had each been previously deported."

Police officers pulled over a vehicle on August 2nd near the entrance to a Six Flags amusement park. The driver of the vehicle, 24-year-old Rene Flores-Calderon, and another passenger attempted to flee the scene immediately after being pulled over but were apprehended shortly thereafter. Flores-Calderon had supposedly been deported in 2016 but reentered the country sometime after that. In total, there were 14 men and one woman located inside the van.

According to Fox2News, "Flores-Calderon was charged with eight counts of human smuggling and faces up to 10 years imprisonment on each charge, and an additional 10 years on his own unlawful re-entry charge." The other eight indicted are all in their 20s or 30s and have all been previously deported.
