Stupak to Step Down
Apr 09, 2010 08:30 AM EST
After more than a week of being
bombarded with pressure from Tea Partiers angry about his "yes" vote for Obamacare, Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., will announce his retirement today.
Top Democrat officials
confirmed this morning that the congressman will be stepping down at the end of this term, capping off an 18-year career in the House of Representatives.
Charlevoix County Commissioner
Connie Saltonstall will probably take Stupak's place as the party's nominee.
