After more than a week of being bombarded with pressure from Tea Partiers angry about his "yes" vote for Obamacare, Rep. Bart Stupak, D-Mich., will announce his retirement today.

Top Democrat officials confirmed this morning that the congressman will be stepping down at the end of this term, capping off an 18-year career in the House of Representatives.

Charlevoix County Commissioner Connie Saltonstall will probably take Stupak's place as the party's nominee.

Seen a blurb the other day, some sorta newspaper, which reported a new verb was being bantered around: The verb was "Stupaked." "Stupaker," a backstabber, was touted as a word that would soon come into effect.

The example they used was: "He stupaked us!"

No example was given for 'Stupaker."

If the November mid-terms are a MAJOR disaster for the Democratic Party, I think there is a fairly decent chance that Obama will not even be his party's presidential nominee in 2012.

I believe that WHATEVER happens on November 2, Hillary Clinton will no longer be Secretary of State come 1/1/2011. After the mid-terms, when she can no longer get her Senate seat back, I think Obama will either quietly ease her out of the SoS job in the belief that he will end her political career once and for all, or if the mid-terms are an absolute disaster for the Democrats, she will smell his blood in the water and leave on her own to begin quietly preparing her 2012 presidential campaign.
