State Department Celebrates Obama's Prize by Jabbing Bush

In a clear dig at former President George W. Bush, a State Department spokesman compared President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize to the flying footwear his predecessor faced in Iraq.
"From our standpoint, you know, we think that this gives us a sense of momentum … when the United States has accolades tossed its way, rather than shoes," State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley told reporters on Friday.

So, let me get this straight; On the one hand libs keep saying a few months is not enough to make a difference.And now he wins the peace prize for a what Sarkozy labeled wishful thinking? At least Carter had a signed doc to flaunt for his peace efforts.

Remember when they awarded the Noble for Economics to those two guys for their Hedge Fund? And they couldn't wait either (at least they waited longer than this). And in the end that hedge fund was one of the biggest messes to clean up of its time.

What is that? A good friend of mine who is a Lutheran pastor and who is married to a native of Norway visits there once or twice a year and reports that church attendance in Norway has fallen well below 10%.

Not trying to start an argument here, probably will happen, but is the Church of Norway a Christian church or is it one of those that- shall we say- is a "ally" of government?

You always want to be careful of who you allies are.

I give Obama credit for realizing and saying that he did not deserve the Peace Prize. I believe that is about the only thing that he has done that I approve of. His receiving it does more to discredit the Nobel committee than it to discredit Obama, although it does that also.

Norway was in very good shape BEFORE the discovery of the North Sea oil fields in the 70's. They produce lumber, dairy products, fish, electricity, ships & boats, electronics, weapons (I worked at what was then called the Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk in the early 80's).
