Last year, Townhall reported how just over half of the men who identify as “transgender women” who are imprisoned in Wisconsin have committed at least one count of sexual assault, according to documents obtained by The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project.

According to the documents, 161 men who believe they are women are housed in Wisconsin’s prisons. Eighty-one of them (50.3 percent) have been convicted “of at least one count of sexual assault or sexual abuse.”

Now, new figures obtained by an outlet overseas show that the majority of so-called “transgender” inmates locked up in the United Kingdom are behind bars for sex offenses and violent crimes.

According to The Telegraph, more than 70 percent of so-called “transgender” prisoners in British jails are serving sentences for these crimes.

Government figures obtained by the outlet show that at least 181 of the 244 “trans” inmates, more than 74 percent, are locked up for crimes “including rape, forcing under-age children into having sex, grievous bodily harm and robbery” (via The Telegraph):

Up to 144 transgender women, men who identify as females, are housed in male prisons while five are currently imprisoned in female jails - including at least one top-security institution where murderers and terrorists are being detained.

The high levels of violent crimes among male prisoners who identify as women demonstrates why they should not be detained in female prisons, women’s rights campaigners argue.

The figures released by the Ministry of Justice also reveal that a further 25 transgender males, women who identify as men, located in female prisons have been convicted of violent crimes and sexual offences. Just a year ago there were fewer than five, according to the Ministry of Justice.

The figures were released after a former female remand prisoner told The Telegraph how one trans woman inside a female high-security prison continuously bullied other prisoners.

The female prisoner who spoke out about the so-called “transgender” inmate said: “She was an absolute nightmare. She was not huge but very athletic and very strong and had all the physical features of a man. She was a bully and was very threatening and intimidating. I think she was fully aware that she was physically much stronger than all the women on the wing and was exploiting that position.”

“There was nobody on my wing - including the prison staff - who thought it was appropriate for a trans woman to be housed inside a female prison. Almost everyone regarded her as a threat,” she added. “The belief that she should have been housed in a male prison was unanimous, not just among the prisoners but also the staff.”

In 2022, Townhall covered how a study by former Scottish justice secretary and Member of Parliament Kenny MacAskill found that four out of 10 transgender criminals imprisoned in Britain are behind bars for sex crimes.

According to Daily Mail, MacAskill reportedly said that allowing biological male “transgender” inmates in women’s prisons “[endangers] vulnerable women.”

“To house convicted male sex offenders with them is perverse and damaging to them. It shows the dangers of self-ID and the need to consider placing such prisoners in separate facilities,” he explained.
