A man has been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill Senator Rand Paul and his family by chopping them up with an axe. The news was first reported by the Louisville Courier Journal.
The man has been arrested. He allegedly called in the threats to Paul's Bowling Green office.
Paul mentioned the attack publicly at an event in Litchfield, Kentucky, on Monday.
"Capitol Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man who threatened to kill me and chop up my family with an axe," Paul said. "It's just horrendous that we have to deal with things like this."

Paul was attacked by his neighbor last year and put in the hospital with severe injuries. He was also on the field when a former Occupy Wall Street protestor attempted to assassinate Republicans practicing for the annual Congressional Baseball Game. In other words, he's been through hell and back.
