Houthi Rebels Fire More Missiles at US Destroyer for the Second Time This Week

The USS Mason, a U.S. Navy destroyer, was once again targeted on Wednesday in another missile attack from Yemen.  The area that the missiles originated from is controlled by Iran-aligned Houthi rebels, the second attack in the past four days, according to Reuters.

The ship did use it's countermeasures, but none of the missiles got near the ship and there were no injuries.

U.S. officials have said the U.S. is weighing what military response it should take against the rebels.

"The Mason was fired upon. The ship took, I'll put it this way, the appropriate defensive measures," Navy Secretary Ray Mabus told reporters Wednesday.. "We're still looking into exactly who's responsible, although it came from the Houthi-controlled region.

Mabus also repeated the Tuesday comments of Navy Capt. Jeff Davis, a spokesman for the Pentagon: "People who attempt to attack a Navy ship do so at their peril."
