North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven (R) announced that he will run for Senator just six days after North Dakota Sen. Byron Dorgan (D) announced his retirement. Hoeven had polled fifteen points ahead of Dorgan, and party leaders urged him to run after Dorgan bowed out.
