CNN Anchor: The President Thinks You're Stupid

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, who infamously lasted 10 days on the job, offered an entertaining interview with "TODAY" show anchor Savannah Guthrie this week to chat about President Trump and trust issues.

"Do you think the president has a problem telling the truth," Guthrie asked him. He didn't exactly give the clearest answer.

"The best thing about him is he gets the themes right," Scaramucci said of the president. "He definitely has a reality distortion field around himself where he curves facts towards himself."

Guthrie smirked, but Scaramucci continued.

When he's in "super serious mode, he is speaking with great clarity," he added. That is different than his "entertainment" mode, which he uses at rallies, etc.

"He's living in that bubble," he added.

CNN anchor John King played the clip for his audience and did not hide how floored he was by Scaramucci's remarks.

"The president thinks you're stupid!" King said, pointing to the camera, us. "The president thinks people are stupid."

TIME correspondent responded that people probably don't care and that most people did not think Trump was a "mostly truthful person." She added that Trump made a correct bet people are so cynical of politics that they just believe that "everybody lies."
