Congressman’s ‘Deck of 52’ Highlights Terrorist Supporters Iran Deal May Free From Sanctions

In 2003, the U.S. military compiled a list of 52 terrorists in Saddam Hussein’s army and government that they considered to be most dangerous. Congressman Steve Russell (R-OK) has determined that our post-Iran Deal climate demands a new list. In a statement to supporters Monday morning, he revealed that he has been distributing a new list in conjunction with his bill, The Iran Terror Finance Transparency Act, because the White House’s nuclear agreement may free these dangerous players from necessary sanctions.

“This new list is a little bit different.  This time, I wanted to highlight the individuals and entities that are just as dangerous, but in a different way.  These individuals and entities are funding, fomenting, and/or assisting state sponsored terrorism in the region, and all around the world.  To make things worse, our government has seen fit to allow sensible and necessary sanctions against these 52, and others, to possibly be lifted. These entities were placed upon terror sanctions lists for very good reasons. It is important to see who they are, and to be sure that if they are to be de-listed from sanctions, we see the justification to be taken off of these lists.“

Some of the dangerous cards in the deck include Sina Bank, which has been linked to Iran’s development of nuclear weapon delivery systems, Major General Qasem Soleimani, a man who helped Shiite militias in Iraq kill American soldiers, and The National Iranian Oil Company, a state-controlled enterprise that provides funding to the Iranian regime. Other forces on Russell’s list are reported to have been involved in assassination attempts in the U.S. and Israeli.

The Jokers in Russell’s deck are Ayatollah Khomeini, the former supreme religious leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

Russell’s legislation will be up for a vote this Wednesday.
