WATCH: Ben Affleck Unleashes on Bill Maher for Comparing Islam to the Mafia

"Gone Girl" actor Ben Affleck proved he has quite the temper when he appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher Saturday.

When guest and author Sam Harris said Islam was the ‘motherhood of bad ideas,’ Affleck went into full defense mode:

"It's just an ugly thing to say. It's gross, it's racist. It's like saying: 'Oh you shifty Jew.'"

The host, however, took Harris’ s side and offered a similarly crude, yet, many would say, pretty realistic portrayal of the religion:

"One reason they (other views) don't get exposed is because they are afraid to speak out. Because it's the only religion that acts like the Mafia. That will f***ing kill if you say the wrong thing, draw the wrong picture or write the wrong book."

To see Affleck’s reaction, watch the whole debate here:

Affleck sat hunched over for much of the discussion with his eyes down toward the table, clearly shocked that his fellow panelists could have such views of Islam. Perhaps Affleck should keep in mind that Islam is the religion that brought us ISIS – the group that has now gleefully beheaded multiple people. That, Mr. Affleck, is what’s really ‘ugly.’

Hey, at least the Oscar winner found two people to agree with his stubborn views.
