The White House Will Be Open For Public Tours Starting March 7

First Lady Melania Trump announced on Tuesday that the White House would re-open for public tours beginning on March 7. The White House had been closed to tours for the past seven weeks, which is an "unusually long" spell between administrations. In the past, the White House has re-opened to the public within days after the inauguration.

“I am excited to reopen the White House to the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come each year,” first lady Melania Trump said in a statement. “The White House is a remarkable and historic site and we are excited to share its beauty and history.”

Granted, not much has been typical about the Trump family's move to the White House. In a break from past traditions, Melania and Barron Trump have remained in New York City and are expected to stay there for the remainder of the school year.

Tours can be scheduled through Congress.
