As President Barack Obama's time in office nears its end, details for his farewell address have now been released. Obama will deliver the speech at McCormick Place in Chicago on January 10. In an email sent today to supporters, Obama said that wants to express his thanks for the "amazing journey" of the past eight years.

"I'm thinking about them as a chance to say thank you for this amazing journey, to celebrate the ways you've changed this country for the better these past eight years, and to offer some thoughts on where we all go from here," Obama wrote.
Obama is the first president in recent memory to deliver his farewell address outside of Washington. The Obama Presidential Center will also eventually be located in Chicago.
