Bayh Tidbits
I'm doing research this morning on Obama's likely VP picks. Here's some information on Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh:

-Former Indiana Governor, son of popular Indiana Sen. Birch Bayh.

-Ran on a "flatter, fairer" tax platform for Senate in 1998.
-Considered a "centrist" Democrat, particularly on trade issues. Has voted to ban partial-birth abortion in 1999 and 2003. (Could rankle the pro-Democrat abortion lobby). Was chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council from 2001-2005.
-Serves on the Intelligence and Armed Services committees in the Senate.
-Voted for the Iraq war and was supportive through 2004. Started supporting withdrawal in July 2007.
-Was considered a potential VP pick for former Democratic contender Hillary Clinton as well as Al Gore in 2000.

Update: Bayh. the "centrist." also voted against confirming Condi Rice to Secretary of State and Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Sam Alito to the Supreme Court.
