MSM Suddenly Interested in Ann Romney's Wardrobe

Boy, if you want to talk about fake outrage, the MSM has it aplenty! After Mitt and Ann Romney's appearance CBS' morning show, the media took an interest in Mrs. Romney's fashion choices. Emily Friedman of ABC News did the legwork and uncovered the shocking truth: Romney's shirt cost $1000!

The shirt, an item in the label’s 2012 Spring/Summer collection, retails for $990, and for those shopping, is called the “The Reed Audubon Silk Shirt.”

The price of the shirt was first reported by the style blog Stylite.com.

Mrs. Romney does not have a stylist, according to an aide with the Romney campaign, and is likely to have purchased the shirt on her own.

A spokeswoman for the Romney campaign declined to comment on Mrs. Romney’s fashion choices.

This isn’t the first time that Mrs. Romney has been tweaked on her fashion choices.

In March, a little girl on the ropeline at a campaign event in Illinois asked Mrs. Romney if her watch was “real.”

“Well it’s, it’s real plastic,” said Mrs. Romney, who wears a Michael Kors wristwatch. “But it’s a real watch too.”

The reporter notes that First Lady Michelle Obama has also come under scrutiny from time to time for her wardrobe choices. Apparently, however, the difference between the First Lady's wardrobe choices and Romney's are that Obama's are all free gifts.

Rumors abound as to exactly how the first family obtains all the pomp and frills associated with Mrs. Obama’s wardrobe. Do the Obamas pay for it all themselves or are the first lady’s outfits given to her gratis? As with most things, it appears the answer lies somewhere in the middle.

Ikram Goldman, owner of the Chicago boutique Ikram, manages the majority of the first lady’s sartorial needs. Any designer wishing to dress Mrs. Obama must first go through Goldman, who remains exceedingly tight-lipped as to her dealings with the first lady. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Goldman donated $6,900 to Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, yet it is unclear whether Mrs. Obama pays for her services.

Now there's a Pinterest if you want to check out what the First Lady's wardrobe's actually retail for. Those J. Crew outfits that she's famous for can actually run a pretty penny.

Of course, Michelle Obama's wardrobe is not an important topic to be talking about. Neither is Ann Romney's. This is a fake controversy, and the MSM needs to move along.

UPDATE: Politico thinks this is newsworthy as well. And Wonkette has predictably terrible things to say because they're a cesspool of hatred.
