Unreal: Vice President Biden Stumps for Alan Grayson

Note well this telling illustration of the Obama Administration's unwavering commitment to civil political discourse and "changing the tone" in Washington:

The Hill previewed yesterday's noxious event:

Vice President Biden will campaign for controversial Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) next week in Florida.

Biden will attend an event on Monday for the first-term Democratic lawmaker, who's made waves during his term in Congress by taking outspoken liberal stances on issues.

Biden will attend a reception on Monday for Grayson following a speech at a conference for the International Association of Chiefs of Police in Orlando.

While I was driving from Boston to Washington yesterday, I thought I caught Sean Hannity mentioning that Biden was scheduled to campaign with Grayson, but I quickly convinced myself I had somehow misheard the report.  "Nah, no way," I thought, "Even they aren't that reckless and tone-deaf."  I was wrong.

scorched earth rhetoric and wildly inappropriate ads have earned him the title, "America's Worst Politician."  Plus, he's almost certain to lose in November, which makes Biden's appearance even more baffling.

I suppose this is just another newly-minted nugget to file away for the next time someone in this administration inevitably starts lecturing others about the coarsening of our national dialogue.  By spending precious political capital to prop up a vicious clown like Grayson, the White House has unilaterally surrendered its remaining credibility in the unending DC Civility Wars.  I'm speechless.
