Awful and Stupid: Murkowski Prepares to Launch Alaska Senate Write-in Campaign

She won't win, of course.  The only thing she might accomplish is widening Democrat Scott McAdams' path to victory by a smidgen.  The "kick off party" is tonight:

"Believe you me, the easier path would be to pack it all up and go do something different," she said. "If I had not heard this call from Alaskans, I would not be deliberating as I am."
Just like another insufferable sore loser and opportunist, Lisa Murkowski made a free choice to run as a Republican with her eyes wide open.  She's served as an elected Republican for her entire political career. She was, and is, entirely aware that Republican primaries are decided by actual Republican voters--those voters have spoken, and she lost.  This write-in effort is destined to fail spectacularly and demonstrates a delusional self-regard that is as reckless as it is pathetic.  Even as the resident RINO here at Townhall, I have no qualms about going nuclear on her for this indefensible fool's errand.

Murkowski technically hasn't made her decision official yet, so maybe a few last-minute facts can persuade her to bow out gracefully:

(1) Hey Lisa, do you know when the last time a write-in campaign for US Senate actually succeeded?  Three years before you were born.

(2) How's the whole "I'm-not-a-sore-loser-I'm-doing-this-for-the-people!" posture working out for another Republican-cum-"independent" who's name will actually appear on the ballot?

Question for the gallery:  Is Joe Miller's victory so assured that you're comfortable green lighting this write-in idiocy, just for the schadenfreude of watching Murkowski fall flat on her face and humiliate herself for the second time in a month?  Eeesh.
