State of Arizona Cracking Down on Racism in Mexican-American Studies Classes

Last spring, Katie Pavlich brought us the story of a public school district in Arizona debating whether to ban the teaching of aggressive racism in the classroom. The controversial class was Mexican-American Studies, which taught pupils to feel resentment toward whites and that Arizona belongs to Mexico. The conflicted class was not banned, largely due to student uprising, but now the Arizona government is cracking down on the school district, saying that the class must come into compliance with state laws to avoid discrimination and divisiveness:
