Immigration and Customs Enforcement is launching a new program designed to give fugitive illegal aliens the opportunity to self-deport and avoid jail time.

The program, called “Operation Scheduled Departure” would allow up to 572,000 fugitive illegal aliens in violation of court orders to leave the country without penalty.

Operation Scheduled Departure will make their first offer to illegal aliens living in San Diego, Santa Ana, Phoenix, Chicago and Charlotte between August 5th and August 22nd. Those who participate will be given up to 90 days to make plans to leave the country.

This offer is not being extended to persons who have ignored previous deportation orders or who have committed a crime.
