Do you feel the leaked information from a global warming alarmist organization is meaningful?

Modern-day liberals – or "progressives" as they more discreetly prefer – labor under an awkward misconception; namely, that there is anything remotely "progressive" about the fundamental canons of their blind, secular-humanist faith. In fact, today's liberalism is largely a sanitized retread of an antiquated mythology – one that significantly predates the only truly progressive movement: biblical Christianity.

While visiting the Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lynchburg, Va., a few weeks back, I heard a troubling, albeit thought-provoking, sermon. Pastor John Mabray addressed the ancient Canaanite practice of Baal worship and, though he didn't reveal it by name, connected the dots to its present-day progeny: liberalism. Baal, the half-bull, half-man god of fertility, was the focal point of pagan idolatry in Semitic Israel until God revealed His monotheistic nature to Judaism's forebears.

In his sermon, Pastor Mabray illustrated that, although they've now assumed a more contemporary flair, the fundamentals of Baal worship remain alive and well today. The principal pillars of Baalism were child sacrifice, sexual immorality (both heterosexual and homosexual) and pantheism (reverence of creation over the Creator).

Ritualistic Baal worship, in sum, looked a little like this: Adults would gather around the altar of Baal. Infants would then be burned alive as a sacrificial offering to the deity. Amid horrific screams and the stench of charred human flesh, congregants – men and women alike – would engage in bisexual orgies. The ritual of convenience was intended to produce economic prosperity by prompting Baal to bring rain for the fertility of "mother earth."

The natural consequences of such behavior – pregnancy and childbirth – and the associated financial burdens of "unplanned parenthood" were easily offset. One could either choose to engage in homosexual conduct or – with child sacrifice available on demand – could simply take part in another fertility ceremony to "terminate" the unwanted child.

Modern liberalism deviates little from its ancient predecessor. While its macabre rituals have been sanitized with flowery and euphemistic terms of art, its core tenets and practices remain eerily similar. The worship of "fertility" has been replaced with worship of "reproductive freedom" or "choice." Child sacrifice via burnt offering has been updated, ever so slightly, to become child sacrifice by way of abortion. The ritualistic promotion, practice and celebration of both heterosexual and homosexual immorality and promiscuity have been carefully whitewashed – yet wholeheartedly embraced – by the cults of radical feminism, militant "gay rights" and "comprehensive sex education." And, the pantheistic worship of "mother earth" has been substituted – in name only – for radical environmentalism.

But it's not just self-styled "progressives" or secular humanists who have adopted the fundamental pillars of Baalism. In these postmodern times, we've also been graced, regrettably, by the advent of counter-biblical "emergent Christianity" or "quasi-Christianity," as I prefer to call it.

This is merely liberalism all dolled up and gratuitously stamped "Christian." It's a way for left-wing ideologues to have their "religion" cake and eat it too. Under the guise of "social justice," its adherents often support – or at least rationalize – the same pro-homosexual, pro-abortion and radical environmental policies pushed by the modern-day Baal worshiper. Excellent Mr. Barber...
Excellent!

Canaanites were not Nihilists
I think the similarities that Mr Barber is pointing to are somewhat superficial. Child sacrifice, for example, in Canaan, on the evidence of the article alone, was all about increasing fertility through superstitious means. It was primitive magical thinking that the gods would reward people who gave them their fertility with the superabundant fruits of divinely increased fertility. Inhuman for sure, barbaric and horrific, the sex rites and sacrifices and sexual immorality were all means of increasing profundity. the values, twisted as they were, were pro-life in intent, if not in effect.

Modern liberalism is just the opposite. Abortion and recreational sexuality are aimed at just the opposite-reducing the human footprint at the source, by eliminating the pitter-patter of little feet altogether.

It is the difference between having one's desire for life warped by bad religious ideas, and a nihilistic death wish for the sake of nature continuing without humans. It is not the manipulation of the nature gods for the sake of increasing human life, but the elimiation of human beings for the sake of nature Herself.

Doubtless, to the extent that sexual energy was spent in non-procreative sex, and child sacrifice reduced human fecundity, and the magical thinking of the Canaanites had no effect on the the gods blessing their worshipers, such practices had a negative effect on the Canaanites ability to compete against neighbors who did not engage in such counterproductive measures.
But, the underlying values of the Canaanite and the eco-liberal were vastly different.

The end result though will have to be the same. A people who destroys their children and future generations through unlimited abortion and separating sexuality from procreation are a people who share their future with the Canaanites, long since expunged from all memory, save the pages of the Bible.

A very Believable Analogy
making the god of liberalism readily understood.

Interesting thought
Definitely a new way to look at the subject. The author has pointed out striking similairities.

Townhal columnist commits suicide!
Let me see here, so far it's Adams, Shapiro and now Barber who will soon be targeted by the Obama administration for reeducation and sensitivity training.

Man, you guys must not like your jobs much. Is it really that hard to renounce/compromise your beliefs? I mean, we are talking about uniting behind the next FDR so He can get on w/ addressing the welfare of the people here folks, do you mind?

During
the last eight years Christian conservative movement has their chance to advance their agenda to this society and now we can see the results in economy, oppression of minorities, hatred toward gays and direct legislative attacks against them...

I'm willing to go with this Baal thing if it truly means more freedom to all citizens not just freedom of Christofascists to oppress others.

Matt Barber is professional hate-monger, he earns his living by spreading slander and lies so this article is perfectly in line with his job description. Any lie and distortion will do in the name of Jesus.

"postmodern Baalism".... Barber has finally gone over the edge to paranoialand with Folger, LaBarbera, Donnely and other right wing religious lunatics.

Ha! Ha! Ha!

Isn't it fascinating that whenever ILLIBERAL "liberals", "Progressives", Socialists, advocates of the centralized nanny-state welfare bureaucracy, etc. are confronted by someone who truly believes that certain kinds of sexual behaviors - even between consenting adults - are, in fact, immoral and even dangerous, THAT someone is routinely accused of being a "hate monger" by those in the PC crowd . . . who commonly accuse anyone even slightly more conservative than themselves of being "fascist", and who see no problem with leaving survivors of attempted abortions on hospital shelves to die.

Liberals
real ideas on progress is finding ways to justify anything that keeps them in power.

They and their other pagans in the MSM could find a way to justify Cannibalism if there were enough votes.

That is the one and only reason they are so forgiving towards the homosexuals.

Baal
The Israelites managed to survive the Canaanites....can we count on the same luck for ourselves?

Good reflection for an evil time
I will do more research on this subject as you have piqued my interest and reminded me of things I studied in Bible College 40 years ago but have long since ceased to consider.

Things will get worse before they get better--and with the Obamination standing in the high places it is a good time to re-read the story of Chanukah and reflect upon the Maccabees as well.

The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not been able overcome it. Keep your light burning in the Dark Age to come.

AudiR10
From your post on Zito's column and this one, my perception is you have lightened up your usual acerbic comments. Doubtless, its the season. Merry Christmas to you and to all.

tidbit
In the early sumerian polytheistic precursor of judaism, baal and yahweh were two of El's, the most high's, sons and were brothers.

Can't make this stuff up
Some leftist wrote, "I'm willing to go with this Baal thing if it truly means more freedom to all citizens not just freedom of Christofascists to oppress others."

The column details the horror that was Baal worship, and this leftist is still "willing to go with it."

Excellent!
This is one of the better articles I have seen in Townhall in a while. Matt Barber is right on target. Progressives would have us believe that to share the words of the Holy Bible is somehow hate speech today. As Christians we can not hate and follow the teaching of our savior Jesus at the same time. We hate no one, and we share the Word in love. The true hate is coming from the liberals, the media, militant homosexuals, abortionist, and anti-Christians minorities, and we still love you, misguided as you are. Church attendence is up, divorce is down. THe war between right and wrong has never been more evident as it is today. To murder children is wrong, to defile God's institution of marriage is wrong, to persecute the chruch is wrong, refusal to accept Jesus Christ is a serious mistake that will last for eternity. Jesus came that first Christmas because our creator loved us enough to become flesh and die for our sins. It's never too late so long as you are taking a breath.

Where are the Global Warming nuts

Where is the separation of religion and state?

Across the world there are reports of unseasonal snow and plummeting temperatures last month, from the American Great Plains to China, and from the Alps to New Zealand. China’s official news agency reported that Tibet had suffered its “worst snowstorm ever”. In the US, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month, and ranked it as only the 70th-warmest October in 114 years.

Yet the 'Religion of Global Warming' Nasa’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), which is run by Al Gore’s chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, and is one of four bodies responsible for monitoring global temperatures, announced that last month was the hottest October on record.

What!

Huh!

Kids all over America are complaining to there mom's about having to shovel 'Global Warming' off the sidewalks and driveways.

If Al Gore said it, don't believe it, that settles it.

A couple of comments
@Leo:
Having read your little screed, I have only one thing to say. May the Lord rebuke you.

@Will:
You need to go reread a few things, Will. 1) 'Christianity was invented by a bunch of orthodox repressed jews.' False. Most of the orthodox jews at the time considered it to be pure heresy and sought to root it out. I'm not 100% certain, but I believe they still consider it heresy to this day.

2) Take a look at the world around you, Will. Are you trying to tell me you don't think mankind's natural inclination is toward evil? (All mankind, not merely those who you disagree with.)

3) You sound like your view of Christianity may have come from some of the early gnostics. They were the ones who felt that the physical world and all that pertained to it were evil. True christians celebrate the gifts, body and spirit both, given by the Lord. They do, however, seek not to abuse those gifts, which I think may be where you wish to differ.

4) They had religions like that back when. All of them have failed the test of reality and are now extinct, except for the spiritual descendants of them pointed out in the column above.

Run for office
Matt should run for office. Absolutely. In fact, the conservative should change their tact in going after liberals using this Baal analogy.

Too bad John McCain couldn't have preached this to the electorate.

I wish more conservatives would come out talking like this, like say George Bush.

Why hold back and only publish these kind of insightful articles in the dark, damp corners of town hall?! Yes indeed, let the world see what you all really think, especially those swing voters!

All hail! Baal! Wooo hooo! Perhaps he can do some good by exposing the true colors of conservatives and how they really feel about liberals being baby killers.

Retired Geek
Do we really have to explain this to you again? More snow and colder weather is PROOF of AGW. Albeit, less snow and warmer weather is also PROOF of AGW.

...and in case it comes up, less (or more) rain, dust, clouds, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, fires, glaciers, droughts, floods or heat waves are all PROOF of AGW.

You "Flat-Earthers" are really dense :)

(Merry Christmas RG and look forward to another year of your wisdom)

Icedog et al

Sorry, it is just difficult to explain to my Grand Children why they are having to dig out of Global Warming.

They are saying, shouldn't it be hot?

I said "If Al Gore said it, don't believe it, that settles it."

BTW, polar bears are migrating south to get away from the extreme cold.

Merry Christmas to you and right back at you!

Shame on you blaming the gays for aids.It was all the fault of christians.Just ask Will and others on here

“Radical Environmentalism”
“Radical environmentalism” is definitely true of those nutcases who burn down new housing developments, but that term tends to be interpreted to mean whatever environmental law might inconvenience us. As far as most liberals are concerned: If only. If a majority of liberal Democrats were even moderate “environmentalists” they would be in favor of enforcing border laws and an immigration moratorium. Maybe the article gives liberals too much credit. Because liberalism is not in any way a coherent philosophy, worshipful of nature or otherwise.

MODERN DAY BAALISM

.....Just have a Gay Pride Parade on Earth Day and march through a Planned Parenthood abortion mill .....COLOSSUS

Liberal Majority elected Obama

The goal for the rest of us is NOT to become a part of this majority, but to stay in the ranks of the 'Sane'.

yikes!
This is the dumbest thing I have read in a while. When I saw it was written by the dean of a law school, I thought Prelusky's plan to dumb down academia must have already begun being instituted.

It's a two-fer. The author fails at history and at logic.

Modern liberalism of the Democratic party type has its philosophical roots in the principles of the enlightenment and, to a lesser extent, its religious roots in Christian Protestantism.

But, hey, blame the Phoenicians if you want. After all, they are responsible for the widespread identification of purple as a royal color (damn them and their snail-based dyes!)(oh wait, the Popes have used it too, so that makes it okay for Catholics, if all the more despised by Baptists), and we all know that purple has gay vibes - tinky-winky and lesbians, anyone? That's why we should be thankful that Alexander and the Macedonians conquered Tyre, the unconquerable city. Clearly he was the agent of God. Well, except that Alexander's most enduring and loving relationship was with another man, Hephaestion. On the other hand, so was King David's, so maybe that's not too far off.

Bad history, bad analogy, and the politics of demonization - in this case quite literally! You know, I think that as conservatives, we can do better than this.

Birth control has had a huge impact
regarding the sexual freedom of our society today. Widespread birth control is relatively recent in the history of mankind. Had it been available to the Baal worshippers, it seems obvious that they would have used it in their rituals as well.

It also stands to reason that birth control is no longer practiced by "liberal" Christians in their daily lives. My guess is that most Christians (left and right) now use it.

Best Article......
I've EVER read about LIBERALISM...and what it TRULY is with its MASK off! Very hideous indeed....

"The gods of liberalism have a new high priest in Barack Obama, and enjoy many devout followers in the Democratic-controlled Congress, liberal media and halls of academia."

Modern day "baalites"....lol.....a new name for the progressives...liberals........lol......

BTW Mr. Barber....please write a follow-up column of what happened to Baal worship in the past....that should prove to be an ENTERTAINING article.....lol..

Hatefest
How strange that to find a story critical of liberalism, Barber has to make an absurd comparison with a completely unknown culture. However, it you want to find a good example of conservatism, one need look no further than Ebenezer Scrooge. Or you can go to the Bible and read "...Lord when were you hungry and we did not feed you? Or naked and we did not clothe you?" How about the rich man who ignored Lazarus? "You can't serve God and money." "Blessed are the Peacemakers." That book you thump so often was written for you.

There's a big difference between believing that gays should have the same thousand-plus rights asssociated with marriage (insurance, inheritance, etc.) and engaging in ritualistic sex acts. THers are just to dumb and hateful to see it.

Say, "Allen,"
your post defending liberalism is the dumbest thing I' have read in a while, downright incoherent. And what do you mean, "we conservatives"? You're no conservative. And filling in the rest of your message with history trivia serves no purpose at all. You're a liberal plant, from somewhere. KOS?

Cam
"There's a big difference between believing that gays should have the same thousand-plus rights asssociated with marriage (insurance, inheritance, etc.) and engaging in ritualistic sex acts. THers are just to dumb and hateful to see it. "

Not so. Ritual and government are both routes to legitimize behavior. Nowadays, people want to make government their religion.

History repeats itself
If our society refuses to look back at history and learn...we are doomed to repeat it.
Isn't ironic that the "progressive" don't want any limits on their gay agenda, pro-choise, but are ready, willing and able to FORCE America to bow to their religion of Enviromentalism. Isn't there supposed to be a separation of Church and State. (By the way, the Constitution says NOTHING about Separation of Church whatsoever) A double standard is okay for the left and their causes. Yep, that is true tolerance, huh?
Gays in civil unions have all the same EXACT rights as do the married folks...except the stamp of approval by Americans who believe that it is holy union designed by God.

jaybird
I wasn't defending liberalism. I was merely pointing out its actual roots.

I would defend the Enlightenment doctrine of liberalism without hesitation however. Naturally I prefer classical or freemarket liberalism, which in the U.S. has traditionally been labelled Republican conservatism, over social liberalism, as practiced by the Democratic party. These reflect, in my opinion, the first and second best ideologies of governance ever conceived by man.

I reject religion-based moralist statism, the political philosophy of such people as George W. Bush, Sarah Palin, and James Dobson, as throwbacks to medieval philosophy which are antithetical to the American political traditions of limited government and individual liberty and equality.

As for my historical tidbits, I reject revisionist history political correctness by either party, and I expect those who make historical comparisons have a colorable argument, based on factually correct information. Being intellectually rigorous is a good and desirable trait in public discourse.

To answer Silver Lion, I think that it would be unwise to rely upon the worst excesses of a religion as reported by its enemies in judging its practices. But to answer your specific question to the best of my ability off the cuff, as it were, and with no guarantee of complete hsitorical accuracy (because I don't have time for the source review this morning), I believe that worship of the Ba'al pantheon substantially ended with the Roman conquest of Carthage, the last Phoenician state. There is significant scholarly dispute as to the extent to which the Carthaginians engaged in child sacrifice and if they did at all. Of course, from a historical perspective, the Hebrew understanding of God was heavily influenced by Phoenician worship of Ba'al, as can be seen in the name Jehovah, connected to the Phoenician adon or adonis, for whom, incidently, there were death and resurrection and ascension to heaven ceremonies.

No Kyla
Religion is my religion. Environmentalism is based on science (although many of us see a correlation between environmentalism and Christian anti-materialism). If a scientist tells you that asbestos is carcinogenic, do you write that off as someone's false "religion"? When the Naional Academy of Sciences tells us global warming is harmful too, many of us respond the same way.

Conservatives pushed the idea of separate but equal 4 decades ago but we learned it didn't work.

Vampire
"Except the Chinese. I wonder if the conservatives have bothered to count how many abortions have taken place in China over the last 30 years. Hmmm. And what have these pious Christians done about it? How do they reconcile the partly number of people Saddam killed compared to the number of abortions in China, and yet we haven't invaded China? Why haven't we ever heard Matt push for invading China to stop the abortions? I wonder?"

Answer to you...some have worked tirelessly for the cause of the unborn in China and against their forced abortions and one-child policies. Millions have adopted baby girls abandoned by their parents because they preferred that their one child be a boy. Christians have known about these efforts for years. Our Congress has had a number of congressmen and women concerned about this issue over the years. We don't hear about it it in our pro-abortion media. And our government owes China too much money to be in a position to openly speak out against many of China's abusive policies.

Do some research!

yucky
This article is absurd. You're comparing liberals and progressives to people who sacrificed infants and had orgies "..amid horrific screams and the stench of charred human flesh...".

I am sure this gets the fundamentalists cheering and head bobbing but, honestly, this article is disgusting. Many progressives are religious and you use a naive stereotype that all liberals are atheists and hate God to justify the filth in this article.

Anyone with half a working brain would see this article as what it is, the continuing attempt by religious conservatives to paint the conservative vs. liberal dynamic as a battle between good and evil and thus, anyone who disagrees with conservative and religious groupthink is a pagan infant burning devil Baal worshiper.

Keep your keyboard to yourself Mr. Barber, you have nothing intelligent to say.

"Jesus says that remarriage = adultery. If our government allows remarriage, then I guess we're "legitimizing" adultery. "

Unfortunately, you are correct. Our country is legitimizing adultery and divorce. I have not, cannot and will not defend adultery or divorce. I say we neither legitimize divorce nor homosexual relations. That is why I have been in favor of eliminating no-fault divorce. Unfortunately, we are not to that point yet.

"Do you think the fact that only 5% of the population is gay while half of marriages end in divorce has anything to do with which one conservatives are willing to "legitimize"? "

No, I don't think it does. Just because I am against gay marriage doesn't mean I am in favor of divorce. By the way, I have never divorced, never committed adultery, and never been with any woman besides my wife.

Demonization
How much further can Matt Barber go in his demonization of gays? I suppose that he could just say that we are the devil incarnate.

What Crock of ....
This post has got to be the silliest thing I read in Townhall. This is taking ant-liberalism to a new level of lunacy and desperation. How can anybody take this garbage seriously?

Baal?
Baal?

Baal!?

That's what's wrong with Obama?

Townhall continues it's descent into madness.

Charity...
...begins at home. To me, paying taxes to support other people I don't know is not charity. Charity is taking in or otherwise supporting, both financially and emotionally, people who are, for reasons beyond their control, unable to support themselves.

As for dealing with the Chinese one-child policy, are you seriously telling us we should invade a country with three times our population? Get real. Besides, China is already beginning to experience the unintended consequences of that stupid policy.

Finally, like Alex 1, I'm definitely anti-divorce, and have been married 36 years and counting to the same wonderful man. Actually, it isn't divorce that's the problem so much as people thinking marriage is easy, to say nothing of the stupid idea that sex can be had without consequences. We would need a whole different cultural attitude toward sex than we have, however, and that isn't likely to happen any time soon.

Liberal Cynicism
The left uses selective memory when approaching the voting public. We have no memories of Jimmy Carter, Bert Lance, et al? I am offended by the left's distain for me, (and it seems anyone who might disagree with them). There are enough voters now , too young to remember or finally paying some attention to politics. It took twenty years for the left to basically lie low, waiting for the moment when the culture would be gullible enough to buy someone like Obama: an empty suit, bereft of knowledge of what to do about anything,a person of dubious origins, marketed like a can of tuna.

If you are looking for pro-liberalism, listen to NPR and read the newspaper. The whole POINT of Townhall is to give conservative (read: sane) people an outlet.

There's nothing wrong with Obama. I'm sure he is a very nice man. He's done nothing for me or anyone else here in Illinois, but I'm sure he'll do something as President. Its not the man that Mr. Barber is attacking, its his ideas. I believe you progressives call it "constructive criticism" when someone points out that someone else's ideas are flawed.

In this case, though, Mr Barber wasn't even pointing out flaws. He was merely comparing two religions. (Yes, religions.) If you actually read the "garbage" and "madness" you might learn something. Obama promised change, he just didn't promise it would be new. Mr Barber was merely illustrating that Obama's particular brand of change is a good repackaging of old ideas.

jerry
No, it took 6 years of budget-busting Republican rule to bring back the folks who cleaned up after Reagan's deficits.

After voting for George Bush twice (who makes up his own words like "misunderestimate" and never reads newspapers), you have the nerve to call Barack Obama "bereft of knowledge"?

Paul
"And by the way the left does not corner the market on sex. "

You're right, the left doesn't hold the corner market on sex. The left holds the corner market on promoting immorality through media and government.

>"...Lord when were you hungry and we did not feed you? Or naked and we did not clothe you?" How about the rich man who ignored Lazarus? "You can't serve God and money."

I am unclear why you referenced this quote. Are you trying to say that Conservatives are more wealthy than Progressives? The stats of this last election and the richest members of Congress don't bear this out.

Conservatives are generous. I suggest reading the book "Who Really Cares" - Ten years of research and the author's conclusion(which he set out to prove that liberals care more by the way) Conservative even those making UNDER $20,000 gave considerable more time and money to both religious and SECULAR charities. Liberal feel Daddy Govt will take care of the countries ill & their taxes are charity enough. Conservative rely on themselves to make a difference. BTW, keep reading your bible, the New Testament separates taxes and "giving".

Cam
>Jesus says that remarriage = adultery. If our government allows remarriage, then I guess we're "legitimizing" adultery. Do you think the fact that only 5% of the population is gay while half of marriages end in divorce has anything to do with which one conservatives are willing to "legitimize

The stat about 1/2 the marriages is not true. They count people who continually divorce and remarry in this stat. Those of us who get married and STAY married for any length of time are only counted once. The government has been legitimizing adultery(no-fault divorce) & sex out of wedlock(welfare, abortion, celebration of single moms) for a long time. Homosexual marriage will just be another in the long list of things that Christians have tried to fight against and lost. None of these things have made our society a better place.

BTW, I have been married (Both our first marriages) to a wonderful man for 17 years-- Neither of us have committed adultery.

Truth is not always pretty!

This was written from a historical view and is clearly a good analogy. The similarities are unmistakable.

But if an individual has no knowledge of the WORD of GOD, quite confident this would not make any sense to them. Of course it is horrific but then so is much of history.

Most of the rage is coming from the dumbed down ones. Or the ones who think they like Obama do not need God. They worship themselves.

One can pick up the Bible in private the world is seeing your ignorance.

On this you can rely everyone worships! Are you
worshiping the ONE and Only True God and His Son Jesus Christ, His Holy Spirit?

"Liberals" are not Liberal

The statist and re-distributionist ideology of contemporary "liberalism" bears no relationship to the anti-statist and LIBERTARIAN ideas of classical liberalism nurtured in the 18th Century political and scientific Enlightenment.
"Vampire's Reflection" . . . We do not INVADE China for the purpose of stopping abortions . . . for one fundamental reason. We do not have the manpower or resources to do it. Please, grow up.

>Evangelist want to kill all muslims
These Christians you talk about preach religious intollerance and hate. And by the way the left does not corner the market on sex.
The only difference is the southern imbreaded
evangelists are hypocrits.

I am an evangelical Christian and so is my husband. He has served in the military and been through many conflicts where he has SAVED Muslims against other forces- remember Kosovo and Bosnia.
No the left does not have a corner on sex. The only reason evangelist become hypocrits is that we still set standards. If you don't expect any standard then you can't be faulted when you don't keep them--hence why liberals are not labeled hypocrits(which I would actually argue... Support for action in Darfur but not Iraq, Against the Death Penalty but for abortion... for minority rights while 1 in 4 black babies will be terminated)

Liberals
Liberals can hem and haw, kick and scream all they please. They can call Mr. Barber names and tell how he hates everyone who doesn't believe as he does.

What they can't truthfully do is deny the gist of this piece.

Way to plagarize about 8 years later...

Paul
"The only difference is the southern imbreaded
evangelists are hypocrits. "

Although a western Mormon, I am happy to stand with these "southern inbreaded evangelists" as you choose to call them. If being called an inbreed and hypocrite are indications of one standing for the truth, then count me in.

P.S. It is spelled hypocrite, not hypocrit and it comes from the Greek meaning play actor. Thought you might want to know, especially if you intend to throw that term around like you know what it means.

interesting!
Good article. I had never equated BAAL with modern liberalism but the link is quite undeniable. This proves my contention about most liberals and, as far as I'm concerned, is proven daily, that most of the modern day liberals exist in a historical null zone. They're history, most of it bad, is conviently forgotten so as not to be bothered by that pesky "those who do not learn from history...." quote. Their history is flocked by good intentions ( by the few and the powerful) and doomed results ( for the poor and disenfranchised). The Black Family,. . . anyone?. That these few and powerful have been found to be immoral and corrupt to boot has little effect on changing the wistfully ignorant Left.
