Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

The state cannot demand the surrender of constitutional rights for a church to remain tax exempt.

Nonprofit organizations are exempted because they are not profit-makers. If citizens are already taxed on their individual incomes, taxing their participation in a voluntary organization from which they derive no monetary gain amounts to double taxation.

Churches are all the more tax exempt. Church tax exemption is not a gift, nor is it a “subsidy,” as some disingenuously contend. As the U.S. Supreme Court has noted, the power to tax involves the power to destroy, and churches have always been exempt from taxation under the principle that there is no surer way to destroy religion than to begin taxing it.

And how ironic is it that those who publicly wave the “separation of church and state” banner are the loudest voices demanding that the federal government entangle itself in the most intimate church business, namely the content of pastors’ sermons? Americans United for Separation of Church and State, the group that has made its name using the tax man as an axe man, recently wrote, “Constitutional violations do not get grandfathered in simply because of the passage of time.”

AU should listen to its own words. The unconstitutional Johnson Amendment is an axe that’s been around for a half century, but that doesn’t make it constitutional. And neither does the feeling of power the AU enjoys in prodding the IRS to wield it.

This tax rule is a surefire way to destroy the free exercise of religion. It’s time to get the government out of the pulpits of America.

IRS does not trump the constitution
A creator can do whatever it wants to with its creation. Thus, God has the say so on how things are supposed to run and if not, He takes action His way.
Since the government creates any and all corporations, it gets to do whatever it wants to with or to the corporation, any time, any place, any way. If the pastors don't want to contend with the creator of the non-profit corporation, then they need to dissolve the corporation. Bottom line is that if they are a corporation, they are a church of the state, not God, no ifs, ands, or butts about it. They must go by the rules of their creator/god, the government.

Sarah Palin Commander In Chief Already
Subject: Sarah Palin's Experience and Quals.....
SARAH PALIN'S SECURITY CLEARANCE

Before you dismiss the fact that Sarah Palin is Commander of the
Alaska National Guard, consider this:

Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor
defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska
National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from
ballistic missile attacks. It's on permanent active duty, unlike
other Guard units.

As governor of Alaska , Palin is briefed on highly classified
military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her
exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's and
certainly by far exceeds Obama's.

She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense
Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into
Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.

Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to
the entire country's defense. Given Alaska 's proximity to Russia ,
she may have security clearances we don't even know about.
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in
February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to
keeping secrets.

She can be entrusted with our national security, because she
already is. . . . her experience in keeping the homeland safe fits perfectly with her image as the competent American woman.

Compare her Experience and Resume with the Messiah Obama's???

Governor Palin, Commander in Chief Already, wins hands down.
