Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

I spent a good part of the past year speaking and writing against the election of Barack Obama. During the last week of the campaign, my Salem Radio Network colleagues, Hugh Hewitt and Michael Medved, and I spoke on behalf of the McCain-Palin ticket in the Battleground states of Colorado, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

One would expect that I would be devastated at Barack Obamas election -- as devastated as liberals were at the reelection of George W. Bush in 2004. I am not -- yet. Here are some reasons why:

1. Republicans won the election of 2004, an election that was more important to the future of America and the world than was this election. Had Sen. John Kerry won in 2004, America would have left Iraq in defeat and Islamists would have won their greatest victory ever. Millions of young Muslims would likely have seen in Islamic jihadism humanitys future and signed up for terror; and Iraq would have degenerated into genocidal chaos.

2. The election of a black president is good for blacks, good for whites, and therefore very good for America.

At least at this moment -- no one can predict the future -- many more blacks feel fully American, and fewer blacks regard white America as racist than ever before. One cannot attain a higher status than the American presidency, and a black man will now occupy that position. As the Hoover Institutions Shelby Steele wrote, this is the first time in history that a majority white nation elected a black as its leader.

Conservatives are not surprised. I have argued for decades that America is the least racist country in the world. By and large, only Americans on the right have believed, or at least had the courage to say, this. Now that fact is obvious to virtually anyone with eyes to see.

3. The Obama victory poses a serious challenge to liberalism and to the doctrine of black victimhood.

If fewer and fewer blacks perceive white Americans as racist, a major reason for black support for liberalism could lose its appeal to blacks. On the other hand, if liberalism continues to portray blacks as victims of white racism, more white Americans will regard liberalism as phony -- or worse, as stirring up racial tensions for political gain.

Most whites are tired of racial tension, tired of being portrayed as racist, tired of their children being taught in college that they are either consciously or unconsciously racist, tired of lowering standards for blacks or anyone else.

So the Obama victory puts liberals in a bind. They either acknowledge the reality of an essentially non-racist America and thereby alienate black and white liberals still committed to this proposition or they continue to play the America is racist card and alienate many whites.

The challenge the Obama victory poses to many blacks is that they will have to abandon ascribing black problems -- such as disproportionate amounts of violent crime and the highest rate of out-of-wedlock births in America -- to racism. Fewer and fewer white Americans will tolerate being blamed for problems within black life.

4. The Obama victory will bring clarity to Americas place in the world.

Now that America is apparently loved again, we shall see how this plays out beyond emotional rhetoric. Will Europe contribute significantly more troops to Afghanistan? Will Germany now allow its NATO troops to shoot at Taliban fighters (thus far they have been allowed to shoot only if shot at)? Will our allies and Russia and China place the needed sanctions on Iran to prevent it from developing a nuclear device? Or is Americas being loved irrelevant to how other countries behave?

5. Conservatives will be able to show how much more decently they act when they are out of power.

The treatment of President George W. Bush by liberals has been despicable, undeserved and unprecedented. We who oppose Barack Obamas policies will, hopefully, act in accordance with conservative values of decency. Hence my simple announcement on the day after the election: I did not vote for him. I did not want him to be president. But as of January 20, 2009, Barack Obama will be my president.

Barack Obama may have a successful presidency or a failed one. If he allows the left wing of the Democratic Party to set his agenda, it will be the latter. In the meantime, however, we can celebrate the aforementioned good of Barack Obamas election and pray for him and for our beloved country.

Black victimhood
I think this is a generational phenomenon. It will not suddenly stop because we have a black president. The people who marched with Martin Luther King Jr. were not victims, but many in their generation still play the victim card.

(By the way, you might want to edit your column; you missed a few apostrophes with your possessives)

Oh the world of assumptions..
Mr. Prager makes some valid points. I also hope Mr. Obama has a successful presidency and leads from the "center". I seriously doubt he will, but could be surprised. The area I find silly is the one about black victimhood. I seriously believe this will linger and the reasons are manifold. First, the race baiters will NEVER let it go. There are so many of them and their very survival depends upon it. Secondly the media. The media has reveled in victimhood for many if not all people. They are invested in this. Third- liberalism is such a failed proposition which has been proven to be a failure so many times that being a victim of the evil -ie:whites,capitalists, military industrial complex, republicans, religionists or fundamentalist's is necessary to prop the whole structure of liberalism up and give it the support it needs. Just think about Obama's statements of "fairness", "spreading the wealth around" and his own playing of the race card. These are essentials of the far left and maintain teir own self proclaimed victimhood and consequently the need of the federal government to intervene. I am afraid this hole is infinitely deep and will never be relinquished.

Here is my two cents
I think that here is were the problem is...Mr. Obama is very well spoken and definitely has a way of getting people"s attention. He reminds me of a quote from C.S. Lewis:

"Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil."

Fellow American's drank the punch and still are.

A wolf in sheep's clothing!
Quick -- think of a prominent, angry, leftist, black political figure . . . who comes to mind? Many would name Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson or Jeremiah Wright. But Barack Obama would not manifest in most peoples' thoughts -- why? Because Obama evinces a different countenance: soft-spoken (in contrast); warm; affable; sincere; gentle.

But guess what, Obama's no less ideologically driven than the radicals above, it's just that he's learned to mask his emotions so as to APPEAR more moderate -- and thus politically acceptable to mainstream America. In truth, Obama is equally enamored by the same hardcore leftist policies that motivate bombastic flame-throwers like Jackson, et al; frankly, Obama has learned the art of looking sheep-like while proliferating policies of which any fang-bearing liberal wolf would be proud!

Hello
TEAM!

Jim
Very well said!!!

Hey Jim
Don't consider myself liberal or conservative, but I thank God that I am not as judgmental as you are. I have never heard such generalization in my life. It isn't racism, I guess it is just holier than thou. Good luck with that.

To Jim...
Good response to the article!! It's true: Liberals are emotion driven. Clearly, one cannot confuse them with the FACTS!!

Liberal Logic
Mr Praeger, this is a fine column and I wish I could agree with you completely. But in my experience liberals are not likely to agree with your logic. In fact, liberals usually seem to react on emotion alone or start with the answer and work backwards with "logic" (like "reverse engineering").

I doubt that liberals would agree that the USA is no longer racist. I think they will want to satisfy themselves that every decision taken by the electorate in the future is free of racism - i.e., they will never be satisfied on the point. Or even admit any progress. They will not agree with the logic that Obama's win is necessary and sufficient proof.

Secondly, we Conservatives will not ever satisfy them that we responded better after losing the presidency in 2008 than did they in 2000 or 2004. That is because liberal paranoia knows no limits. In their minds imagined slights, imagined wrongs, and distrust will always trump any evidence to the contrary.

The conclusion I reach is that if liberals were capable of honest, fair and objective analyses they would be Conservatives, not liberals. I am always astounded by the reaction of liberals when presented with the facts.

So, yes, **I** agree with your logic, but expecting a liberal to do so is a leap of faith beyond mine.

Make RINOs an endangered species!!!!!!!!
Time to stoke up the .577 Nitro double express and head for the bushveldt people! The RINOs HAVE to go. The moderate elite blueblood deal making backstabbing country club GOP must be flushed out like they tried to flush out the conservatives. There are a LOT more of use them of them.

Dennis Prager searches for clarity?
john states:

"I don't know what your agenda is but it sure as heck isn't what Dennis (Prager) constantly searches for and that is "CLARITY".

you cannot be serious can you John? Denis Prager is one of the most "confused" individuals I have ever read parading as a conservative intellectual...rotflmao

Bill You are a very SICK man...
you stated:

"Anyone who voted for Obama on November 4, whether they know it or not, just spit in the face of God."

If you actually believe what you just stated then the MAJORITY of people in this country who elected Prez-elect Obama and returned leadership of the U.S. Government back to Democrats AGAIN must have something wrong with them..eh?

Actually, Bill want "anybody" who voted for Obama did was to "spit" in the face of people that think LIKE YOU DO....

The REAL reason Republicans lost
I am so tired of this masochistic republican hand-wringing and soul searching. So tired of hearing of how we've abandoned our principles, of how we're too white and need to reach out to minorities. Yada, yada, yada. This is so counterproductive.

OK, wanna know the real reason we lost? Our Republican representatives are weaklings confronting these Dems. You see, the Republican leadership views elections as a rivalry. A rivalry is like when you go to a college football game and you cheer for Notre Dame to defeat Florida State.

Democrats view elections as war and Republicans are the enemy. It is kill or be killed and win as if your life depended on it. Republicans are not Americans in their eyes and the Dems show no mercy.

It is about time we wake up and realize that Democrats are our enemies and we need to start treating them as such. I'm sorry. Anybody that takes steals my money and robs me of my freedom is my enemy.

The founding fathers took up arms against Britain for abuses far less serious than what we have put up with. We need to replace these emasculated, sissified poltroons like John Boehner and John McCain with more Ann Coulters, Tom Tancredos and Michael Savages.

It sickened me to hear McCain grovel to the Obamaniac who winked at voter fraud and carried Big Media around like his personal pocketwatch.

Anyone who voted for Obama on November 4, whether they know it or not, just spit in the face of God.

Not my President - YET
I find it hard to believe so many otherwise intelligent people are thrilled with a candidate who used every underhanded trick, broke every rule and lied his way into political office. Yes, America is willing to elect a Black person or a Woman to high political office, but I would rather vote for someone of high moral character of any Color or Sex! Most of all I want to vote for a qualified candidate and this has not been made clear about Obama yet. Obama has refused to produce his certified "vault" birth certificate to verify where he was born. Also, since he was an Indonesian citizen when he lived in and attended school in Indonesia - what is he now? The most I can figure is a "Naturalized Citizen", but this is not enough to serve as President of the U.S. According to the U.S. Constitution, Obama MUST be a "Natural Born" citizen to be eligible to be President. Write to your elected officials and require this to be verified before the electoral votes are counted in December.

IS WHITEY OFF THE HOOK?

.....Have Whites been absolved of the guilt of their ancestors? ...will blacks now refuse Affirmative Action? ...I doubt it ...

.....In the sixties blacks raised their fists and called for Black Power ...have Blacks been empowered by Obamba's election? ...Yes!

.....But don't expect the end of racial tensions ...in fact I predict a worsening as high expectations are not met and more demands on whites are made ...the fun is just beginning ...reality is h*ll .....COLOSSUS

now my president
Sorry Dennis. He might sit in the Oval Office, and occupy the highest office in the nation, but he is not my president. I will be carefully monitoring his actions and see if what he does is beneficial to my country. But if he allows his actions to be dictated by the nutcases in the Democrat Party, then he will not be my president.

I'm Late!!!!
Again, the neo-coms are trying to feed us a plate of crap! If all this stuff Crager claims is TRUE, it should have been the central idea of the GOP campaign: "If you elect BHO, you will no longer be able to blame white Americans for your problems. You will have to admit that Black American problems are due totally to incompetent black leaders such as ..." Whoa!

Prager needs a history lesson! After the Civil War, during Reconstruction, blacks werre given authority over white (many but not all former slave owners). SOME blacks were conscientious about their new power, many (if not most) were ill-prepared for weilding such power. Abuses, by newly empowered blacks and carpet baggers, wwere directly instrumental in development of the KKK.

As the old saying goes, what goes around comes around!

Gracious?
Dennis: "The treatment of President George W. Bush by liberals has been despicable, undeserved and unprecedented."

You want to run that by Bill Clinton, Dennis?

Gracious?
Dennis Prager: The treatment of President George W. Bush by liberals has been despicable, undeserved and unprecedented.

You want to run that one by Bill Clinton, Dennis?

Bah Humbug!
Come on Dennis, it was quite enough for a black man to have BEEN A CANDIDATE for President. It is a terrible tragedy it was THIS BLACK MAN who became President and we will pay a heavy price as Americans for it.

And no, OBAMA DESERVES NO MORE RESPECT THAN WAS GIVEN GW BUSH. I am sick and tired of pretending this isn't war for our freedom; we need to fight with everything to win this one. Obama needs to be diminished day by day with everything we have got.

For Dennis to believe this man has good intentions for our nation is foolish and unbecoming of an otherwise savvy and clever man of the world.

zapdoodat
but the dims have controlled the budget for the past two years and did nothing to stop or slow down the pork. The red nazi also saw the passage of an even larger agriculture welfare bill after promising the previous one would never be repeated.

With the dims contolling the white house and congress economists are forecasting $trillion deficits. So it looks like the dims will now be solely responsible for out of control spending. Especially since b hussein has promised $4.5 trillion in new spending, which by itself is larger than the entire federal budget passed last fall

And the messiah has not listed one area of govt that spending cuts can be made, so we can expect to see all govt agencies grow by either the 10% plus the dims traditionally favor or the mere 8% their budgets grew under bush

Fabius's tortured logic
Fabius, you accuse Prager (and apparently all of the world) of racism with some crackpot Troofer-grade long-distanced psycho-analysis and then you cry like a baby when you're called on it.

I don't know what your agenda is but it sure as heck isn't what Dennis constantly searches for and that is "CLARITY".

It's people like you that have diminished the charge of racism to a meaningless throwaway accusation. Dennis has warned his listeners many times about people of your ilk.

Reaction from the Right
This article is too "warm and fuzzy" positive. Being negative is not my favorite mode but B.O.'s campaign was so fraught with deception, outright lies, and all kinds of smoke and mirrors tactics that I can not look to the next four years with those rose colored glasses of Prager.

My 10 predictions in the next four years: 1) Iran will acquire nuclear weapons. 2) North Korea will be partially appeased by capitulating to its demands and providing huge amounts of aid at taxpayers’ expense. 3) The economy will not bounce back for four years, three if hope for a GOP win in 2012 looks do-able. 4) Iraq will disintegrate into chaos after we prematurely pull-out. 5) Afghanistan becomes a hopeless mission and Bin Laden dies of old age, is not caught, or he moves in the White House’s (that once honorable edifice probably needs to be renamed) Lincoln bedroom. 6) Africa, especially Kenya, will be recipients of huge amounts of aid at U.S. taxpayers’ expense. 7) At least two ultra liberal Supreme Court judges will be named with disastrous long-term consequences to the Constitution and its precepts. 8) Welfare of every kind and imaginable by perverse leftist minds will be rampant. 9) Taxes will be the highest in our history. 10) The pretender will be ignobly voted out of office in 2012. For an 11th, I would say it will take at least eight years to undo the damage done but maybe a large part will be irreversible. For a twelfth: Publicly, the international community will laud the pretender for his “brilliant diplomacy”. Privately, they will gloat, snicker, laugh, and point at the gullible buffoon in the White House and the greatly reduced influence of the U.S. on the world’s stage.
I could go on with vastly negative effects on rights-to-life and all the ethical and moral issues which will be violated to the extreme but I rather not inflame the rhetoric to the point of citizens mobilizing to remove the pretender by force.

Neal
You should be ashamed of yourself voting for the Republican party.

It only took three terms of consecutive Republican presidents (Warren G. Harding;1920, Calvin Coolidge; 1924, Herbert Hoover;1928) to drive my beloved and proud country to its knees more than 70 years ago, resulting in the Great Depression.

When will you learn that the country needs to be run by competent people?

Anyhow, it only took one Republican president, in two terms, to drive this mighty of mighty countries to the brink of financial oblivion. George Bush is the master of 'cut taxes and spend even more' that has successfully hollowed out our economy.

Let's remember, it's not about spreading the wealth, or creating wealth, but it is about the DESTRUCTION of wealth, Republican-style.

I hope you are proud of yourself and will NEVER vote Republican again.

Neal
“WHY DID AMERICA IMPLODE ON ITS SELF”.

I can answer that!

It's Republican thought that has brought on this financial meltdown. Spending more than you have will surely lead to disaster.

It was Republicans who spend more than the Democrats. They increased pork barrel spending from 3,000 to 14,000 projects a year, NOT PAID FOR.

They have engaged in a five and half year social engineering project in the Middle East that costs $120 billion a year and may well last another 100 years, NOT PAID FOR.

They have added another layer of entitlement spending that costs $50 billion a year called Medicare Prescription, NOT PAID FOR.

Mandated $4 billion a year in ethanol subsidies, as well as drastically increased cotton, sugar, soybean, corn, wheat handouts, NOT PAID FOR.

Doubled the size of the Department of Education, NOT PAID FOR.

How would you pay for all this spending? It took 210 years for the first $5 trillion and debt and only 7 years of Republican control to double it. It's nigh time for some fiscal Republicanism.

Judgment Day...Nov 4 2008…

First, I would like to congratulate Obama for the greatest of victories. I hope and pray that he is able to keep this country together as “One Nation under God”.

He got his moneys worth from the Democrat Party Machine, ACORN, and all the other supporters of his campaign. Lies and deception won-out this time and once the truth is known President Obama will have a lot of explaining to do and will become history’s answer to; “WHY DID AMERICA IMPLODE ON ITS SELF”.

This election maybe a “first”, Obama will be this country’s first black president, but it certainly is not ground-shaking. It only confirms what many have known for years, the white-against-black racism is a relic of our past. And is only used by the race-baiters such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to extort money and favors for themselves; and to keep African-Americas dependent on the Democrats and Governments that will continue to “take from Peter and give it to Paul”, Paul will always vote for a Government that continues this policy.

Now…(I hope I am wrong)…Let the revolution begin with…”WE THE PEOPLE”, have decided that our founding fathers were wrong. Their principles, ideals and their American Dream flawed. “WE THE PEOPLE” have decided that the Socialist principles, ideals and the Marxist Dream are a much better way.

I find it unbelievable that America would elect an unknown far left Liberal/Socialist as President of these United States of America. What have we done? Do we realize that we just enabled a far left Liberal/Socialist agenda upon ourselves? Our forefathers must be turning over in their graves. Mr. “HOPE AND CHANGE” with a total lack of grit will, both at home and aboard; be tested early and often. What if he fails these tests? Then WHAT…? Can we afford his failures?

Loyal OPPOSITION
I agree with that guy up there, who says that 'our side' has to stick together. Duhh. But there's more to it than that. What we really need, is a little fealty to the Party. We need the OLD FOOLS, in the Party, to GET OUT. The Warners, and the Hatchs, and the Roberts, and the Grassleys, and ESPESCIALLY, the McCAINS. Any one of these drooling morons, who comes from a State with a Republican Governor, should GET OUT, so that the Governor can replace them with someone who might ACTUALLY GET IT. Times have changed, and these 'indespensable men', are standing in the way. As far as the rest of the Party: Oppose EVERYTHING. Vote NO. Don't do anything fancy. Just vote no. You don't have the votes to STOP ANYTHING. But, anyone with half a brain knows, that these guys are going to run EVERYTHING in to the ground. And this time, it's NOT better to join them, if you can't beat them. They have the rope, let the hangin begin. "But, what about the American People"? They're about to get what they asked for. It'll serve them right.

O as President
you would love it if we did that, so you could say more about how intolerant we are. There may be some conservatives that do not want to acknowledge Obama as President, but most have the attitude Prager posits- we've abided by the process, and he clearly won, so let's move on.
The title Marxist is completely in synch with his ideals regarding our economy according to his own words! I don't know about the other titles you listed. Let's go through the titles attributed to Palin? All's fair in election and war- oh wait, they're the same??? You can't be a liberal and do the "why can't we all get along" either- or am I lumping one group together and refusing to believe there are differences even within that party?

I am willing to wait
and learn how Obama actually governs. I must admit ,however,I have been alarmed by all those from the left purporting to speak for him who predict all kinds of radical changes in America. I remind myself (and hope Obama does also) that 57 million voters didn't vote for him. Also, I hope Obama observes the analysis by various organizations revealing the youth vote did not turn out in record numbers (1% more),in percentage the overall turnout was not a landslide, he won because republicans stayed home in in great numbers, that the issue most important to voters was present day concern for the economy. In my book, that isn't a mandate to restructure the United States.

Also of interest is a poll in which 3/4% of voters are confident Obama will solve the economic crisis. Wow! What a responsibility!

Way too soft, Prager
Maybe Prager expects some minor post in the Obama administration. He can't be a real conservative and do his "why can't we all get along?" thing. I see that many TH readers share the position that real conservatives, on the basis of their principles, should take--that Obama's election is a prelude to disaster. I think conservatives need to go further. Some TH readers make clear that, for them, Obama is not really the President of the United States. Throughout this campaign, conservatives have called Obama a Marxist, an Islamist, a racist, a gay-lover, an enemy of the family, and even the Anti-Christ. I propose that conservatives consider taking action on this position and declare themselves opposed to Obama actually taking the office of president. Conservatives need to consider the possibility of active resistance, up to and including armed rebellion, against an Obama-led government. If you folks are correct, this would be the genuinely patriotic thing to do. As a liberal, of course, I'm not proposing such action, merely suggesting that if conservatives wish to be true to their own principles, they will not dismiss it out of hand.

.....OBAMBA wants to "change" the Constitution and radicalize the Courts ...we can limit some of the damage he will do to the Country to two years if we can get out the Conservative vote for the mid-term elections in 2010 ...we need to stack the Congress and Senate with enough "true" Conservatives (No more McCain RINOS) to block Obambas radical agenda and the Socialization of America ...

So very well said! I pray that Obama has the intelligence to move to the center or we as a country are in real trouble. "Good bye. ed"

Well, at least you got off one coherent, positive sentence.

Conservatives Need a Simple Message
Dennis, I can see your logic as well. The treatment of President Bush, even going back to the election of 2000 was “Un American” and anyone who is offended by that can just stuff it. What I’ve read on the web and in some of the liberal websites just shows how childish and small minded these people really are.

I hope, for the sake of the country, that Obama can improve things. I have serious doubts he will succeed because what I’ve heard being discussed are things that have been tried before and not worked. It’s amazing that smart people think they can make a failed ideology like socialism work where it has never worked before. I also find it interesting that those with money are the ones pushing this move. George Soros, Warren Buffet, left wing celebrities; all people who if they lose 50% of their wealth, would still be better off than 99% of the world. They aren’t real people, they have no idea of how everyday Americans live, they are protected and insulated from reality.

What conservatism needs is a spokes person In the mold of Ronald Reagan who knew, instinctively, how to communicate the greatness of America and our freedoms. We didn’t have that this past election, and the message was not received favorably. We can’t be like liberal democrats, I’m sorry but the ones I see on TV most of the time (Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Rangel, Obama, Clinton, Gore etc.) just can’t tell the truth.

And my apologies to those democrats whose values are similar to mine, just we disagree with how to get this country going again.

My last word, for real!
I DID DECLARE THIS BEFORE A FEW TIMES, However I sign off for good and pull the plug on townhall.
As a conservative non citizen I got caught up in this ellection and rooted for most pundits.Yet for this site to allow a JUDAS rat as Parker to keep spewing her venomous drivel IS BEYOND MY PAYGRADE. Also I see that most of your most vocal pundits are beginning to pull in their horns and start singing KUMBAYA in order perhaps to not to be muzzled when the witchhunt start. Why can't you keep hammering at the truth that OB bought the ellection with a lie and stole it where he was not believed. and of course that the MEDIA HAD TO SHOW THAT THEY WERE NOT TO BE COUNTED OUT YET AND COULD SHOVE THIS DOWN YOUR TROATHS. Good bye. ed

Dennis, I agree with you..partially.
While I see the logic in your point regarding the election of our first Black president, which to me and many white Americans was never really the issue anyway(it was ideology), I don't see it making a difference in stifiling the liberal agenda.
The left will continue to push their liberal agenda which is fomenting the culture war in this country. Race is only one aspect that they perpetuate as a means to an end.
It should now be clear to people of color that white people vote ideology...not race.
Problem is, Obama, if his history of radical associations, statements made in his books, membership in a socialist organization in Chicago, etc., etc., is an indication(and reason would tend to support such)of his belief system he has the perfect opportunity to affect via judicial appointments and in concert with Reed and Pelosi, some of the most liberal policies that are the scourge of traditional American values and is deals. I wish I were as optomistic as you are Dennis.

race
in the first place America does not now nor have we ever had a black President elect. Mr. Obama while his father was a black man his mother was not therefore we do not now nor have we ever had a black president elect. what we do have is a president elect who is of mixed racial ancestory

Fabius Cunctator's bad thought process
FC says ..."Prager mentioned ... that he would like to see a Black person elected President.
This was a revealing statement indicating that Prager is (or now, was) a racist. He condescendingly permitted, in his prejudiced mind, that he now will permit a non-White to be President.

Anybody who listens to Prager on his radio program and says "Dennis is a racist" is a scurrilous liar. His lengthy, genuine, and thoughtful conversations with leading black thinkers should demonstrate to any conscious person that there is not a racist thought in his mind.

He has nothing to hide and makes all his programs available for free.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Schaeffer is a moron

you trolls remain totally confused. Your messiah accomplishes nothing and still you maintain he is this wonderful leader.

Btw the way citing huffpuff, another of the troll sites with it's totally leftist bias wins no arguments.

There is no way to attack your messiah's character. He doesn't have one. Otherwise why would he need the corrupt organization acorn to flood voter registration offices with phoney voter applications.

And we will never learn how much money he got from foreign sources which is a violation of campaign rules since your messiah removed the program that linked account numbers with the person who owned the account.

If your messiah has nothing to hide and is so honorable why did he need to resort to cheating. Perhpas he might have won without them but obviously following campagin rules mean nothing to the follower of alinsky who taught the ends justify the means and cheating is not wrong if you win.

You seem to be another who fully accepts cheating as the way to victory

President Obama's Second Term (Pt 2)
6. Will begin his campaign for either the Supreme Court or UN Secretary-General.

7. Support, and sign into law if it makes it to his desk, a law making abortion more widely available and government funded. A potential late first-term item to charge up the base of the Democratic Party for his run at term number two.

8. Reduce spending on the US military while increasing funding for his private police force.

9. Establish a national health care system that will be optional at first, but mandatory after some period of time - perhaps 2-4 years.

10. Lay the framework for a North American Union of some sort with Canada and Mexico that includes a currency similar to the Euro. It will take more time than he will likely have to bring this to fruition.

11. Lend his name and reputation to who he hopes will be the second black President - Michelle Obama. Alternately, he may take a page out of the Hugo Chavez/ Michael Bloomberg playbooks and expand the number of terms an American President can serve.

Hang on America... it's going to be a wild ride.

President Obama's Second Term
President Obama, an ambitious if not patient man, after convincing the country that he is a moderate (or being forced to govern more moderately due to national and world events) will embark on a series of substantially liberal policies to increase government influence in the lives of all Americans.

Assuming President Obama will retain the teflon quality he enjoyed during the 2008 Presidential campaign, any economic difficulties will be blamed on the previous administration. President Bush will be mentioned as much in 2012 as he was in 2008 if that is the case.

Of course, if (and hopefully when) the economy recovers, Obama will readily accept the credit just as President Clinton accepted the credit during the 90's even though he had nothing to do with the Internet Boom.

In President Obama's 2nd Term he will;

1. Move aggressively to remove gun rights from private citizens. His current rhetoric is betrayed by his position historically.

2. Establish a civilian military force. This may be initially framed as a mandatory 2-yr commitment to civil or military service after graduating high school.

3. Raise taxes on high income earning Americans in order to support his programs focused on 'economic justice', 'fairness', and 'neighborliness'.

4. Support American citizenship for illegal aliens - chances are fair to good that this gets done in the first term.

5. Nationalize some or all of the following industries; airlines, auto manufacturing, oil industry, pharmaceutical industry, and banking (including mortgages).

Proving that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. you state:

"Less you forgot he also had a habit of voting present while in the illinois senate rather than exhibiting the courage of any convictions to vote up or down on issues before that body."

In the Illinois Senate there is a yes vote a no vote and a "present" do your research.

No policies, no arguments no ideas, so attack the character of your opponent

I think the article by Frank Schaeffer says it all! I guess he's drinking the kool aid too. huh?

Where's Khalidi?
The Media became an absolute ugly, evil MONSTER!!! Things will never be the same. Obama was complicit in his silence, looks like the cowardly wonk has a pattern of behavior. The MSM is his new ugly association.

Dennis has gone pollyanna while the cult of Obama entrenches itself. Listen to Rush, he knows the score. The Nazis, the Soviets, and now the Liberals...another Jew wakes up late.

Demand the Khalidi Tapes DENNIS!!!!
DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's nice to see messages are suspiciously getting removed from the site. Freedom of expression is what veterans fought for, right?

DD, another confused messiah acolyte
another of the delusional trolls who prostrate themselves before their false prophet to sing his praises.

You cite his two books that were nothing more than love letters to himself. So we should take comfort that he writes he was ashamed of his white heritage and sought out radicals and marxists to help him form his thinking process

That in any conflict he will always side with muslims.

If b hussein is such a great american why did he feel the need to use haters and terrorist like farrakhan, wright, ayers, dohrn, pfleger, tillman et all as mentors and role models.

All we know about the fool is that here is no lie he won't tell to the gullible to get them to believe he is no threat to america.

What are these great things your false prophet has already done since his election. All we hear is that the left believes he will be a leader although he has never been a leader in the illinois senate and has no legislative record in washington but the most liberal votring record.

Less you forgot he also had a habit of voting present while in the illinois senate rather than exhibiting the courage of any convictions to vote up or down on issues before that body.

But we do know he was the flunky of the chicago political machine in the illinois senate and later followed by the willing lackey of durbin, shumer and reid while in washington.

You are obviously so confused you can't see their is nothing of substance to your messiah but you were impressed that he could read the talking points his handlers gave him to read off his teleprompter.

You may want to believe the fool will be a leader. Many of us see the coming disaster by someone clueless about what needs to be done to lead this country

Dennis has plenty of Fodder!!
I'm new to TH.com. This article has garnered more than the average comments and frankly, I'm sorry that much of it has been really nasty between posters. People can disagree and get a bit "edgy" but a lot of this has really degenerated into bigotry, childish name calling, disrespect, and lack of any respect for anything at all.

It's disappointing to say the least. And I don't think it's necessary. If this is what it's like to comment on an article here, or what it's like "Post Election", I'll have to reconsider!!

I like it when ppl make points and back them up with data. I'd have to be honest that sadly, with BHO, there isn't a lot of data except his campaign "promises", but still...that IS some data!!

Anyway, at the very least, I'm sure we've helped Dennis Prager (and perhaps other talking heads) with his/their next columns!!

I didn't vote for BHO as I agree with virtually nothing he stands for but I do hate to see this country SO divided. FWIW, the Republican party is not "dead", both parties are responsible for the recent Economic Meltdown...it's just the party in the Whitehouse gets the blame, and we'll just have to "wait and see" how BHO does, won't we??

I wish him no ill will, will pray for the government as I always do, but I am not overly optimistic. Just being honest.

Now, let's stop the infighting, and express ourselves like adults from this point on. Thank you!!

posting the same nonsense doesn't win your argument.
\
That morons voted for a fraud from chicago that relied on voter fraud and illegal campaign contributions while promising to bring more socialism shows how easily those on the left like you c an be led around by the nose.

Why has your messiah changed his web site where he previously had posted all his great new hope and change to delete earlier promises.

If your messiah has nothing to hide why do we know so little about him and his life.

But then the left which truly hates everything that doesn't fit into their narrow view of how america should be welcomes this false prophet who has told of his problems with the constitution and how the courts didn't go far enough to pay reparations to blacks.

That your messiah who is biracial tells of how he felt shame from being part white and wanted to have a black identity so he joined wrights church of hatred.

But it was your messiah that constantly brought up race in the campaign. And it was your messiah that has told blacks that some form of reparations must be addressed.

Economists forecast that under the messiah the congress will be looking at trillion dollars deficits just to cover you chicago's frauds spending plans.

And now we can see exactly what kind of agent of change he will be. By choosing one of the nastiest and most partisan of the clinton bootlickers, rahm emanuel we see the messiah is planning confrontation and not compromise.

Plus there is talk of him picking jamie gorelick who during the clinton years prevented govt agencies from talking with each other with the wall she put up and later she made over $100 million in bonuses while pushing fraudulent loans at freddie and fannie. Taking a dim who helped bring about 9/11 and then profited from the housing meltdown shows b hussein is no agent of change but surrounds himself with the same losers the dims always put into positions of power

Dan:
I could very easily vote for a Michael Sttele, J.C. Watts, Condoleeza Rice, or Michael Williams, (Texas RR Commissioner). I could not vohte for Obama, becausr I think he is so far left that he will ruin this nation.

I'M DRINKING THE KOOL AID??? ME??? I'M LEFTIST TOO?? WOW! YOU'RE DEEP. NO ONE NO ONE has called you a Racist! That's in your head.

Barack Obama wrote TWO books BEFORE he ran for President. And you're STILL asking who he is? Have you bothered to read them?

There are videotapes of him from 2002 and beyond all over You Tube and you STILL don't "know" who he is?

Professors and Senators and schoolmates and 6th grade school teachers were interviewed and you STILL don't know who he is?

Who's drinking WHAT and WHOSE Kool Aid? John McCain wrote a biography and the story wasn't pretty. And I LIKE HIM! I Actually "like" him more than I "like" Obama. And I KNOW he's crazy! Had he won. I'd be concerned but I wouldn't try to tear him down. You may or may not be a racist but you are woefully uninformed and very opinionated.

"You guys gave it, but you can't take it and that's typical of the whiney Left. They seek to censor instead of to engage."

Take what??? We have TWENTY YEARS of Proof. (Remember Ann Richards?? She tried to warn us!) Obama hasn't even been sworn in yet and already he's done a better job. THAT'S MY POINT!

Would I defend your right to say whatever you want to say? No! WORDS MATTER! PERIOD! Should you be shot? No! Should you be allowed to imbue your perception of people through the prism of Nixon, O'Reilly and Hannity's eyes on say, children NO!

Here's the good news. The cameras shot a picture of the faithful during McCain's concession speech. You're a dying breed. Suvival of the Fittest now THAT'S constitutional!

"I speak out quite a bit on a lot of things."

Blogging doesn't count

Lower form of thinker...
Thank G-d for those like Dennis Prager who can handle this situation with grace, dignity, and insight.

Anyone who cannot rise above the politics of the moment and see that the election of an African-American US president is a bright shining moment in this nation's history is certainly not a true conservative, but rather, a lower-form thinker held captive by their own biased thoughts.

Robert Ranger29
Wrong - The only hope the Republican party has of rebuilding is to reconnect with the social and fiscal conservative policies that are the hallmarks of true Republicanism.

DD - Speaking out
I speak out quite a bit on a lot of things.

I may disagree with everything you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Would you do the same for me?

And what's your point?

DD Part 2
Who is Barack Obama? IS A VERY GOOD QUESTION. If you think that is racist, then you have drunk so deeply of the Kool-Aid there is no hope for you.

You want to talk about vitriol? Where have you been for the last 8 years, DD? Under a rock?

You guys gave it, but you can't take it and that's typical of the whiney Left. They seek to censor instead of to engage.

Barack said almost nothing, but what he did say exposed him as a socialist. He went to a hateful church for 20 years; he hung out with a domestic terrorist. We would know more about those relationships, but every attempt to investigate it was shut down with cries of "racism". But when an otherwise innocent citizen asks Obama a question, he's immeidately investigated. Who's the one not watching the campagin, DD?

YOU.

Catman Joe; DD
Catman: Your #199 post makes no sense. But that seems to be typical of you. Perhaps if you posted something that I could respond to?

DD: good job, start with an insult. I'm more lady than you could ever handle, sweetheart.

And, for the record, I don't have to prove I'm not racist to you or to anyone else. I know what's in MY heart and that's all that matters. I've known plenty of black people and I've had run-ins with plenty that whine and think I owe them something because of the color of their skin and the color of mine. Regardless of the fact that my family didn't come to the U.S. until after 1900, were poor cole miners and therefore owned no slaves and held no positions of power. Thankfully, I've run into more that DON'T act like that.

I watched the entire campaign. So some imbecile in the crowd yells "Terrorist!" and that's McCain's fault? Especially when he refused to call him such; refused to engage in conversations and debates about whether Obama was Muslim or not?

What about Obama's statement that the "Republicans" will say I have a strange name; that I don't look like the other Presidents, etc." BOVINE FECES! McCain NEVER ONCE SAID THAT. Palin NEVER ONCE SAID THAT.

EVER.

Obama The Pragmatist
Obama will do the following;

1. He will continue to abandon the far left rhetoric that won him the Democratic nomination and repeat often that we are the UNITED States of America.

2. He will give MoveOn.org/DailyKos/ Huffington Post supporters a token - either close Gitmo, support card check (eliminate secret ballots for union creation), or support the Fairness Doctrine, but not all three. Most likely he will close Gitmo as the country focuses on the US economy.

3. He will not bring the troops home in 6 months. Today his 16 month timetable has grown to 18 months and now comes w/ consultation of commanders on the ground.

4. Congress will wait until after his inauguration to pass the next 'stimulus package' - perhaps even signing it the same day.

5. He will not cut taxes of 95% of working Americans. He started moving away from the certainty of passing this and other proposals due to the economic crisis.

6. He will let the Bush tax cuts expire.

7. He will blame the Bush Administration and the economy for not being able to pursue much of his $1 Trillion proposed government programs.

8. He will not appoint a single conservative Republican to a cabinet position - Hagel, Snow, and Luger are not conservative.

9. He will appoint left leaning Supreme Court judges that support economic justice and base decisons on 'fairness' vs. the Constitution as written.

10. President Obama will, overtly at times, conduct his presidency as the longest political campaign in history - even before he was President-elect he spoke of his second term in office. He will count on the short attention span possessed by many Americans executing more liberal policies early in his first term and govern more moderately especially in the last two years.

God bless President Bush, God bless President-elect Obama, and may God richly bless the United States of America.

Alleycat
While your request is a good one. It is not "civil" to equate Obama to a Terrorist or Farrakhan or even the Messiah. How can Republicans even THINK they can bring anyone into the party when every thing they say about one man, any man is so un Christian like. What "Christian values"?

Most of the nations of the world are run by corrupt gov'ts that treat their citizens in ways YOU will never be able to imagine. Wow! So insightful and well-read! So Kryzzie when Paulson withdrew his TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS out of his 401K account in 2005 (the beginning of the real estate lead stock market decline). What did you "Speak Out" and say exactly.

And when the first American Oil Company opened in Iraq last month what did you "speak out and say"

And when the constitution was being gutted and private phone calls where fair game what did you "speak out and say"

And when the reporters asked Neel Kashkari the Iraqi born sidekick of Paulson where the bailout money was going what did YOU speak out and say?

If there really was something known as "free speech" you would free us all of your speech. Good night ladies and gentlemen enjoy the veal.

Catman Joe
And on Nov. 5, the Republicans began to eat their young. (Well Palin and her young!)

YOU PEOPLE should be ASHAMED of yourselves. At least have enough self respect to take that crap behind doors.

Catman Joe
Let ME summarize for you...

On Tuesday Nov. 4 2008 53% of the country said:

Conservative, theocracy, Republican - is all lies and stupidity and evil.

ladykrystyna
OK 1st you should remove the lady from your name. I know a lady and you're no lady. Secondly, if you watched coverage of the campaign with your eyes OPEN instead of your mouth, you would have seen REPEATED coverage of the rally where McCain kept asking that STUPID question (that was mocked by SNL) "Who IS Barack Obama (as if he didn't walk down the hall with him for 2 years. Someone in the audience shouted a Terrorist. And it was WRITTEN on the screen EACH TIME!

3) I just heard Bill O'Reilly tell Karl Rover that if Obama messes with the Free choice act Obama is "Dead" and Karl said right. Who speaks about a President that way? He should be arrested!

4) Why do you think I CARE if YOU or anyone else is a racist? You, O'Reilly, Coulter, Aryans and or anyone else who is a racist has ZERO effect on my life. And when was the last time a Black person whined to YOU about ANYTHING? What do you have that ANY Black person could benefit from? You probably don't even have a 401K and if you do there's NOTHING IN IT NOW? Who did that?

5) The whites I saw at the McPalin rallies looked a hell of a lot worse off than any Blacks I know. Which brings me to the question. How many Blacks do you know. I guess you got your degree in African American studies what year?

BOTTOM LINE.. THE WORLD...THE WORLD!!! Watched this election. They saw a Black man conduct himself with dignity debate ISSUES and watched a certain segment of the population not only embarrass themselves (and the country) but confirm what they believed to begin with. Here it is a week later and listen to the vitriol coming out of this site. "He's not my president" Racist? Maybe not. IGNORANT! DEFINITELY

ladykrystyna
The little pups are yapping and biting at your heels. Took care of 'em real good, that you did!! Great comebacks!!

Talk to the center, swerve to the left
Obama seems to have most dead center, and right of center commentators fooled completely.

Clinton pretty much had to govern towards the center after the republicans cleaned house.

I dont think that will happen with Obama, I think he will tack strongly left while talking to the middle and disguising his agenda while keeping it right out in the open, and before you know it FDR looks like a moderate, the majority of American voters just want free stuff, and are apparently not too bright.

I agree with a lot of posters, Republicans are more worried about seeming like nice people and turn into pansy's when confronted with angry liberals.

When constitutional conservatives win we seem to take one step forward then two back to be 'Reasonable' and apologize when we do win a point, concede when we shouldnt etc.

When leftist win they charge forward with no regard for anyone or anything other than their agendas, they are only stopped when someone sets up a road block so that their lefty-lunatic vehicles overturn and explode into a ball of flames.

Even then they crawl out the burning wreckage and start reforming like some twisted version of the terminator, at which point we step back and yet again give them time to regroup, pathetic...

They cant be bargained with, they and their ideas need to be utterly destroyed and humiliated.

A new vote...
I vote we ignore Catmandoo...OH...sorry, he goes by Catman JOE...ooops!!

I see little worthiness in replying to a troll.

I enjoy differing POV very much but...?? THIS is not THAT.

catman joe
exactly what has your messiah done that he is entitled to a modicum of respect.

He was the one that kept bringing up race as an issue. He was the one that had no problem fully accepting his hater pal farrakhan's reference to himself as the messiah. He was the one who referred to himself as the one and the person who would stem the tides

It is your messiah who brought up the need to consider reparations. It is your messiah that talks of increasing taxes on ever shrinking incomes and it is your messiah who talks of spending an additional $4.5 trillion in new spending which is larger than last years federal budget

And it your messiah who talks of the need for his own personal security force. And he also is the one who wants to do away with the secret ballots for union members and curtail the ist amendment by stifling talk radio

But you and that dimbulb prima dimwit are so concerned we won;t give your false prophet the unconditional love that they mindless are quick to give him.
\
But we will follow what he does and criticise when necessary. For every lie he transmits and every broken promise we will remind the truly stupid from the left their messiah is nothing more than a status quo pol who used voter fraud and corrupt campaign fund raising to win the presidency.

We don't have to attack your messiah, we need only comment on his soon to be many failures and pitiful excuses blaming others for his his own mistakes

ladykrystyna
There is a little truth in there. I assume if you wanted to know the rest you already would.

racial preferences will not end
People are kidding themsleves if they think racial preferences will end. If America really could be honest about race and ethnicity, then Obama would have not gotten any real "credit" as a child of the civil rights movement. Obama has no slaves as ancestors, but multiple white slaveholders as ancestors. Of course, point that out and you are a "racist." Apparently, you can't even point out that slaves were mostly from West Africa, not East Africa (where Kenya is). It is kind of like comparing someone from Wales with someone from Bulgaria --not a while lot in common.

"Diversity" is the new racial preference word (not really that new). In essence it means few or fewer whites. How that is diverse is beyone the definition of "diverse." For example, if you had a group of 7 black Americans, 2 Mexican Americans and one German American -- that would be regarded as "diverse." However, if you had 2 Irish Americans, 2 Dutch Americans, 2 Greek Americans, 2 Russian Americans and 2 Danish Americans -- that group would not be "diverse."

DD
Let me summarize for you. Conservative, theocracy, Republican - all good all the time. Anything else is all lies and stupidity and evil. If you can't see that you are a blind idiot out of touch with reality.

Catman Joe
BTW - Bush did NOT start with respect. Is your head so far up your butt that you cannot see? Do you recall the 2000 election? From the start, many lefty loonies, and even not so lefty loonies, believed that Bush was "selected" and not "elected". They may have given him some slack after 9/11, but it wasn't too long after that attack that they were blaming him, that real loonies were claiming it was an inside job, etc. They supported Iraq, based on the same intelligence Bush had, then claimed he "lied" and abandoned all support when things went south. COWARDS.

McCain, whatever else he may be, is an honorable man who stood by his country, called for the surge, despite how it could have damaged his career. The surge worked, and even your beloved President-elect can't admit that it SUCCEEDED! To this very day! Freakin' amazing.

Biden the Blow-hard has been wrong about every foreign policy endeavour since he's been in office, including wanting to split Iraq into 3. But he's next in line.

That's just great.

Well, YOU voted for him, so we'll see what happens when you find out that he can't actually deliver on many of his promises, or that when he does, this country and the world will go to pot faster than you can say "hope and change".

Useful idiots. Google it.

Craig @7:25PM: Rule???? That would be

hysterically funny except that it's obvious the Marxist Obamas really seem to believe that!

Catman Joe
Re: Your post of 7:18 pm - care to be specific? Frankly, though, I don't give a flying rat's butt what the world thinks of us. Most of the nations of the world are run by corrupt gov'ts that treat their citizens in ways YOU will never be able to imagine. If you tried to speak out the way you do here in many countries, including Iran, Cuba and Venezuela, you would be dead now. You just don't seem to understand that.

As for DUNE - man, did you miss the point! Amazing. No, it was not "don't mess with the sand people", you idiot. It was "don't lay all your hopes on a Messiah because you will not be able to control him/her and you have no idea what he/she will do." Perhaps you should try reading the whole original series and understand what Leto II, God Emperor, had to do in order to correct the mess the Messiah made.

Granted this is all fiction/fantasy, but you missed the point of the story completely.

Typical.

HA! Primavolta got caught with his
comprehension problem on Limbaugh's thread so he must have slithered over here....

HA HA HA HA HA

my president?
"But as of January 20, 2009, Barack Obama will be my president." DP

I don't have a president, never have. The executive branch of the United States Government has a president, but not me. Too many people refer to these scoundrels as "our leaders", or "my president". Maybe this is why an Obama spokeswoman said he would be ready to "rule", on January 20th.

Ignorance has let this government out of the box imposed by Article 1, section 8, clause 17 of the Constitution. Mentally and linguistically giving them more jurisdiction doesn't help.

Pastors, Christians WAKE UP!
HOW COULD ANYONE CONGRATULATE OBAMA WHO HASN'T EVEN PROVEN HE QUALIFIES AS A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN? HOW CAN YOU MAKE SUCH REQUESTS TO OBAMA WITHOUT FIRST TELLING HIM HE MUST REPENT!

REMEMBER JOHN THE BAPTIST? he was NOT SILENT in speaking out against Herod and Herod's sin of adultery - he told Herod to repent AND he got his head chopped off for it:

How much WORSE than Herod's adultery are the atrocities of Obama?

1. Horrific abortions
2. Homosexual marriage
3. Encouraging and accepting worship/adoration from people (a type of worship/adoration that belongs only to GOD).
4. Refusal to comply with Constitutional law [Refuses to provide proof of U.S. Natural Born Cititzenship via a valid birth certificate] WHICH MEANS HE IS NOT QUALIFIED TO BE PRESIDENT.

Jesus said John the Baptist was the greatest man that ever lived.

Any pastor or person who is trying to get out of doing their job in speaking out against sin by masking their fear of the media or of being called "names," and telling us to "congratulate and pray for wisdom and discernment for Obama" WHEN HE'S NOT QUALIFIED TO EVEN RUN [not a natural born US citizen] is seriously outside the will of God, as THERE WILL BE NO WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT WITHOUT REPENTANCE.

PLEASE PASS THIS AROUND TO OTHER CHRISTIANS AND REMIND YOUR PASTORS OF THE PRICE OF KEEPING SILENT:

IF THERE ARE TO BE ANY PRAYERS WE MUST ASK FOR OBAMA'S REPENTANCE BEFORE GOD WILL GRANT HIM ANY SUCH WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT (which by the way are gifts of the Holy Spirit which Obama does not possess). NO HOLY SPIRIT = NO WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT.

CHRISTIANS (AND ESPECIALLY PREACHERS DO YOUR JOB!: WARN THE PEOPLE!

If not, John the Baptist’s life and death stands in judgment against you.

http://moniquemonicat.wordpress.com/2008/11/05/%E2%80%A2-no -prayers-for-obama/

ARE YOU LISTENING MIKE HUCKABEE AND OTHERS???

DD, Part 2
Plus, if you want white people to not generalize about black people then you need to stop generalizing about white people, don't you think? I do not need to prove to you that I am not racist, but I am in no agreement with the White Aryan Nation or with people that denigrated Obama because of his race. His race was a complete non-issue to me and to many many others. It was his ideology, which is decidedly Leftist.

As long as certain blacks and certain whites generalize about each other and hate on that basis, there will be racism. There is no law in the land that can stop that. Just know that you live in a land where institutionalized racism is gone, especially in light of the fact that the highest office in the land is held by a black man.

What will the black people complain about now?

That is what that post was about. If blacks continue to complain, they will be seen as phoney and whiners and will lose whatever credibility they had left, even from those that still suffer from white guilt.

Try a little reading comprehension and knock that chip off your shoulder.

Blacks are in it now. They have to show that THEY are ready for a black man to be President. I think white people were quite ready. I'm afraid blacks are not. As soon as someone criticizes him, it will be like the campaign - "racism" will be the cry. And most whites will get tired of it REAL QUICK and a two term presidency will not be in the cards.

Good day.

DD
You have drunk deeply of the Kool-Aid. Nothing McCain or Palin said was racist in any way, shape or form, and that includes any attempts to spin what they said into racism by claiming "code words", which is about the same as Newspeak (See "1984" for reference).

Neither called Obama a terrorist. They said he "palled around with a terrorist". BIG DIFFERENCE. Open your ears. McCain interrupted a supporter who started talking about how Obama was a Muslim and McCain stated that Obama was an honorable man. McCain never talked about Rev. Wright.

So you need to get your "racist glasses" off and get out of your own "De Nile" river, buddy.

You verify what most of the world thinks of us.

Been looking to re-read Dune. I was reminded of it when we went to Irac. The message was, Don't mess with the sand people on their home turf.

Thx for the reminder.

Real Cactushead
I never said you should do anything besides whatever you want. If you want to commit your life to bringing down Barack Obama, go ahead and try. I think that is sad, and it would be nicer for you if you could commit to something more positive, but it does not matter to me what you do.

cactushead
"but tell us why your wacko leftists think we shouldn't show your messiah the same disrepect your have shown for president bush these past 8 years."

We are depending on you to do just that, Try not to disappoint.

BTW, Bush did not start with his disrespect. He earned the old fashioned way.

Catman Joe
The statement from Britain was the truest one - because they know that we already ARE THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. If we weren't, so many illegals would not be trying to get in. And no on is trying to get out. In fact, if you want to leave, we let you.

The European response is just typical elitism and a hatred of the America that saved their butts because most of them were too lazy to do it themselves. If it weren't for us, they'd be speaking German.

As for the African statement - I can only hope those people can do that because that is one of the main things holding them back. We shall see.

Of course, to remain cynical, most of that sounds like they are talking about a "Messiah" which is exactly what most of us were fearing.

Perhaps you all should take a good read of Dune by Frank Herbert. Beware the Messiah. Be careful what you wish for.

Prager has lost it
If skin color is irrelevant as Prager claims on his show, then why does he believe Obama's skin color will make his Marxist policies work?

If race is irrelevant, then electing Obama is one of the worst things that has ever happened to America.

The color of Obama's skin will not magically make Marxism work.

The color of Obama's skin will not make his Jimmy Carter-esque foreign policies any better for the safety of America and Israel.

DENILE IS NOT JUST A RIVER IN EGYPT
"Most whites are tired of racial tension, tired of being portrayed as racist, tired of their children being taught in college that they are either consciously or unconsciously racist, tired of lowering standards for blacks or anyone else"

You're kidding right? Did anyone on this site see those McCain Palin rallies??

The tone, conduct and the comments of Sarah Palin and the people at those rallies doesn't get any lower "my friend".

Calling a United States Senator a Terrorist? Obama Bucks? The ONLY person in this campaign with ANY dignity was Barack Obama.

If whites don't want to be "portrayed as racist" may I suggest they stay away from national tv carrying monkeys with Obama name tags and stop getting arrested for calling themselves members of the Arian nation while driving by Democratic conventions carrying rifles and confessing to thoughts of domestic terrorism you jack asses you!

Carrie, CatmanJoe
Carrie: Roll up our sleeves? "Work will make you Free"? (You may want to google that phrase, darlin'. You might be surprised what you find.) Change will take "giving of ourselves"?

Nothing that man has sad can be equated with "giving" in any kind of real sense; the voluntary sense, that is. Everything he said meant that the giving was going to be by force, through taxation. There was no "ask what you can do for your country".

So take your kool-aid and stick it where the sun don't shine.

CatmanJoe - Bush did not lie and there is verifiable evidence that he did not lie. GET OVER IT.

Primavolta
Just heard a lady on the radio that reads and translates news from around the world.

Africa is saying, If the US can set aside tribalism maybe we can, too.

From Europe, The elected Bush to make themselves seem smarter. Now they have elected someone smarter than they are.

A Frenchman called it the reincarnation of the American Dream.

From Britain, " Obama’s election reminds us that the U.S. still represents the best of our battered western world.”

prima dimwit 2
but tell us why your wacko leftists think we shouldn't show your messiah the same disrepect your have shown for president bush these past 8 years.

But many of us plan on highlighting every lie your false prophet makes and every failed promise he refuses to deliver on.

But we already see the chicago fraud has altered his website to remove his campaign promises.

So the lies and denials have already begun

And what of his desire to set up his own version of a personal gestapo to keep critics at bay and his
planned attack on the first amendment to stifle any criticism from various radio talkers.

Seems b hussein obamarxist while the darling of the left seeks to undermine rights in the constitution.

But when her messiah fails to deliver on his promised new spending of $4.5 trilluion to enaqble socialism, prima

Dan

Dan, why can’t we get off this race thing long enough to see the issue here?
Do you think that it really matters to a white man who is dying of thirst who gives him a drink?

This country needs leadership in the RIGHT direction.

Is or is not this country in need of leadership.
Is or is not Barack Obama capable of leadership.

There seems to be a difference of opinion on that issue.

He is our president, case closed.
We will see if he indeed is capable of leadership in the next 4 years.

The only thing that I don’t want to here is; if it hadn’t have been for George Bush.

Barack Obama has a controlling congress to work with. He has a lot more power than George Bush, so let’s get on with it.

Race has not been the issue on the part of white America. If anything, race is an issue on the part of blacks, and it is obvious.

Friend, I am not on a rant here, I’m just tired of this race thing. For goodness sake, lets end it. Forgive and forget.

Someone has posted that it was White America that ended slavery, and has made tremendous strides in ending discrimination.

Kenneth
Well said. The Bush hate was not a "core value" but something that developed. Whe you find someone has lied to you it is wise to ask what else they lied about.

John Ashcroft, btw, was one of the better guys. He had enough integrity to refuse to sign the spy stuff. Now that was a heck of a story.

Thx for a readable post.

What a fantastic article....

I can't wait for the Inauguration (really).

Michelle and many Black folks are finally having some Pride in their Country...

Patriotism!!!

And Patriotism is the one thing capable of pulling Black Americans away from their Liberal plantations and into the mainstream.

Patriotism allows for courage, free thoughts, and liberty. Something quite dangerous to Chicago machine politics and their vile race-baiters.

Farewell Sharpton and Jackson... you evil liberal monsters !

Holy Crap Around here
This is the largest gathering of self righteous, judgmental, hot air I have ever wasted time reading. Just wanted to beg all you that are so full of yourself to get a life. Stop pointing your little fingers and roll up your sleeves and get to work. Like our President Elect has said many times, change will take giving of yourself. BE the change you want to see in the world. I do not consider myself "conservative" because that would mean that I sit on God's throne and pass judgment as I see fit. Sounds like a good way to get snubbed at the gates of heaven.

Todd
Minorities are not "in servitude to Democrats." On the contrary, by and large they *are* Democrats.

Other countries loving the US
I don't think other countries *love* the US right now so much as they are very hopeful that the disastrous policies of the last 8 years will not be continued. If other countries can rely on the US as an equal partner in the quest for global peace and prosperity, then the US will become increasingly respected. If the US only talks a good game but continues in its habitual chauvinistic recklessness, then it will lose the renewal of good faith sparked by the election of Barack Obama. Thus, if European countries do not commit troops to whichever war zone the US thinks they should, Americans should remember that this has nothing to do with love, and everything to do with what those European countries would stand to gain by committing more troops to the US's recreational war, which is nothing.

Get Real
The reality is that B. O. is a mulatto. A real black man, Alan Keyes, has been ignored by blacks who dance to the Demoncrat piper. B. O. stands for Baby Obliterator since more babies (mainly black ones) will undergo the genocide of abortion.

Thanks for the advice. I thought for a while that he might be Knight of baawa. He also was an antagonist.

Sometimes I get caught up in the passion of the moment and use sarcasm which I regret later.

When it comes to personal attacks, I try to avoid getting involved.
As a Christian, I expect to be ridiculed, it comes with the vocation.

I also follow your posts as well.

Catch-all post, Part 4
2. Obama will realize quickly that he has to rule from the center (as some of his aides are starting to realize with Gitmo; even if they decide to close it, they are quite aware of the problems that will be faced in trying such criminals in regular courts; hence the "alternative courts"). The Looney Left will go nuts and he will feel the wrath of it and realize how bad Bush had it in 8 years.

Things will be not so good, but not as bad as they could be because it's more like being under Clinton instead of Carter.

If he does No. 2, we could have him for 8 years (give him a chance to improve). If he does No. 1, I say 4 years like Carter with hopefully a daring GOP come back.

In short, I will be watching him closely and I will oppose him whenever, wherever and however I see fit as is my right as an American.

The conspiracy theorists here will at least keep us up to date on anything that might actually turn out to be true and a real threat. The nicer faction will keep us from acting like a bunch of rabid animals like the Left.

A balance.

But we can't be too nice and we can't be too mean. We have to be rational, thoughtful, and forceful.

Cheers.

NEWSFLASH this just in

Barack Obama laid a wreath in Chicago at the tomb of the unknown VOTER.

Great Day for these Black Americans

"White people are potential humans - they haven't evolved yet."
Louis Farrakhan Philadelphia Inquirer, March 2000

"The white man is our mortal enemy, and we cannot accept him. I will fight to see that vicious beast go down into the late of fire prepared for him from the beginning, that he never rise again to give any innocent black man, woman or child the hell that he has delighted in pouring on us for 400 years." -- Louis Farrakhan, City College audience in New York

"White folks was in caves while we was building empires... We taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it." -- Rev. Al Sharpton

"In South Africa we'd call it Apartheid. In Nazi Germany we'd call it fascism. Here we call it conservatism. These people are attacking the poor." -- Jesse Jackson

"...And he (Barack Obama) has involved young people in a political process that they didn't care anything about. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking." Louis Farrakhan

"Whiteness, as revealed in the history of America, is the expression of what is wrong with man. It is a symbol of man's depravity. God cannot be white, even though white churches have portrayed him as white. When we look at what whiteness has done to the minds of men in this country, we can see clearly what the New Testament meant when it spoke of the principalities and powers."
- James H. Cone; Black Theology & Black Power; p 150

Catch-all post, Part 3
So what's going to play out in the next 4 years is this:

1. Obama will refuse to realize that he CANNOT "rule" (shouldn't it be "govern"?) from the extreme Left. He will do so and we will have a country economically as bad as, if not worse than what we had under Carter. Given that the int'l scene is more replete with problems than it was in the late 70s, we could suffer from numerous attacks, or our allies could, and Obama will not agree to protect them.

There could be some attempts to be even more socialistic and possibly fascist, but I honestly don't see that happening. The Constitution is pretty solid about separation of powers, we are a Republic and the military is NOT beholden to a PERSON, but to the office and does NOT have to obey unlawful orders. This is not a Banana Republic.

He may try; poke around and see if he can. But he won't be able to.

I see just Carter 2.0, but worse in terms of national security.

Catch-all post, Part 2
4. I know that Obama has not yet taken office, so he has not actually "done" anything yet. At least not as President. But I feel comfortable with being able to question the MalNar in him with his "Office of the President-Elect", and his appointment of Rahm, among other things.

5. My understanding is that although Obama still wants to shut Gitmo down, his aides are admitting that it's not that simple and they are looking into, redundantly of course, trying the Gitmo people in "alternative courts" but on U.S. soil to address the problems with "top secret" evidence that would be disastrous for our security if allowed to come out in a regular civil/criminal trial. Then I heard an ACLU guy say that his group would hold Obama's feet to the fire regarding trying the Gitmo prisoners in regular U.S. Courts the way he PROMISED he would do.

Catch-all post, Part 1
1. I understand Dennis' desire to remain a "gentleman". I applaud it. The problem is, as some others have pointed out, that has gotten the conservatives NOWHERE.

It doesn't mean that as a group we should be as virulent as the Left was, but I can't help but think of the many times that McCain and Palin had the chance to correct what was being said, especially about the economic breakdown and the Democrats hand in it (as well as the Republicans), and THEY DIDN'T DO IT.

We can be forceful, we can stand up for ourselves, without turning into raving lunatics.

2. I heard Rev Wright shortly after the election say that Obama's election does not mean that all is right with the world "racially" speaking. So, fear not, Jackson and Sharpton, et al, will still have a job. They will still find a way to be victacrats, make no mistake.

3. As far as Bush and conservatives blaming Clinton for 9/11 - that was FACTUALLY based. I doubt that any blame the Obama camp will place on Bush/conservatives will be factually based because it will conveniently leave out how Republicans like McCain saw problems with Fannie and Freddie and were rebuffed by Dodd, Frank, et al - crooks every one of them.

President Apostate & Defeating America
I will salute the uniform, but not the man. Largely what Dennis states is true. What Dennis does not state is far more important. Obama was a Muslim when he is young, and now he is an Islamist apostate - those are both facts by the rules of Islam. Daniel Pipes, with over 40 years stydying Islam, and I with my 8,000 plus hours since 9/11 concurr. His policies and beliefs favoring Islam will go a long way to help the USA become a Muslim country, inpart or in whole, well before 2100, as the U.S. House of Representatives Anti-Terrorism Caucus states we are already headed (bi-partisan - 122 members). If we lose this war, again, as we are headed towards, nothing else will matter as our Constitution is shredded and replaced by Sharia Law, and as our economy tanks by 90% - permanently. Our grandchildren and great-grandchildren will never forgive us for electing as President someone who so favors the Islamasts that are taking us over from the inside, as is also happening in Europe, Britain, Russia, and Canada.

dan
another loser who thinks the messiah who ran a campaign based on lies, fraud and corruption and no experience will rise to the occasion of leading the country.

Exactly how does anyone who dislikes capitalism but promises higher taxes, and his plans a promised increase in spending of some $4.5 trillion understand the economy.

Besides his vague notion of hope and change which remain his campaign slogan we know nothing of what he envisions for the country.

We are told his association with haters and terrorists hasn't affected his thinking but he proudly points out in his book that he will side with muslims and how he joined with the rev wrong and his church of I hate whites to find his black identity.

We on the right are looking for solution to this moras the economy has sunk into not a status quo dim who has talked of reparations for blacks while pledging his loyalty to the unions, the teachers and the lawyers.

B hussein favors the union proposal of doing away with the secret ballot for union membership as well as his support of the so called fairness doctrine that shuts down any criticism of the dims.

And what of his plans for a gestapo type private security force. What is wrong with the fbi, local and state police and the army that b hussein thinks he needs his own security force

Dan history is making the country work not electing some clueless clown who won the election with the help of acorn fraud and illegal funding. If the messiah was such an outstanding choice why did he resort to fraud to win. History will show the bad bargain the dims made in electing this clueless fraud, b hussein obamarxist

Lower Form of Thinker...
Anyone who cannot rise above the politics of this election and see the bright shining light that this moment in history is for America... that an African-American has been elected President... cannot be a true conservative. Anyone incapable of celebrating this moment in history-politics aside-is a lower form of thinker, or non-thinker, a prisoner of their own biased thought process.

Jay
Well said!! Being the polite loser still makes you a loser. Unless we start going for the throat, we're doomed to be a party in exile for then next 40 years. We need to start going after these goofballs in the MSM, go after these communists in the government, and destroy them, both personally and professionally. They don't seem to have any problems with it, why should we?

foxfire22
I noticed the other day that you got into an exchange on another thread with SJ Doc - and wondered why he seemed intent mostly on insulting you rather than actually having a serious discussion, and you wondered what you ever did to him.

Let me give you a little advice here. Another poster on this site put me wise to the fact that SJ Doc is all but certainly the same person who also posts here under the name MellorSJ2, and after seeing the posts of these two, I believe him, since the content is virtually identical (notice some similarity in the screen names, as well). MellorSJ2 is an admitted homosexual (in fact, he's actually PROUD of it), so that will tell you why he has such contempt for God-fearing people and such an uncivil manner altogether. My suggestion to you is that you simply ignore SJ Doc and let him post his bile to a deaf ear on your part - and hopefully, everyone else's as well.

Deconstructing BAM
Let's not get carried away.Obama is simply a Y2K version of George McGovern and Jimmy Carter in a shiny new package.Only his moon bats think that there is anything original about him.Same tired old liberal catechism.Tax the few who have to bribe the majority who don't.Didnt work 30 years ago and it won't work now either. In 2 years time the public will have a tummy ache from the fallout of all of those liberal goodies, the economy will still be in the tank and the off term elections will put a brake on Obama's agenda. Fret not

BO
Sorry Dennis, but he is not my president as I believe: voter fraud was prevalant, he may not be a natural citizen, and lastly there were vast amounts of foreign monies behind his campaign.

I will treat him - if inaugurated - just as Peolosi, Reid, Dean et al have treated President Bush.

maverick
Sorry maverick, that’s just the way politics in America are.
Remember the 2000, and 2004 election. Democrats moaned and complained for 8 years until they got control.
Now, they are gloating, so who’s the villain?
Republicans are unhappy with change of control and will work toward pointing out all the flaws in an Obama administration. And believe me there will be flaws in any administration.

Personally, I do like Obama’s ideology, but until congress is cleaned out from to bottom I don’t care who is running the show, America is not going to be the utopia that everyone is looking for.

The fact is that no politician, including Obama is going to put his or her own ambitions aside for what is best for this nation.

Debt has been a problem for this nation for over 70 years, and no president or congress has addressed it.
Energy has been a problem in this nation for over 40 years and no president or congress has addressed it.

The difference between this administration and Bush’s is that Democrats are going to be held to a higher level of accountability than Bush because they have greater control.

I for one don’t want to hear any excuses. Every administration has been left with problems from the previous. No more complaining about Bush, about Clinton.

It is Obama, and the buck stops with him. If it should have been easy for Bush to make all the right decisions, it should be a breeze for Obama.

Barack Hussein Obama,President-Elect
Yes,he is on his way to being Tsar Obama. Maybe he will be a benevolent tsar, who knows? Maybe he will have some checks and balances here in congress. I doubt it,though.

Who will keep a check on his terrorist friends here and abroad? What did he promise to do for them when he hit 'the big time'? If he doesn't deliver, what then?

It is always dangerous to allow one to steal an election without knowing who or what he is. Even some of his partners-in-crime in the MSM are admitting they don't know much about him. Too little too late,in my opinion.

The angst
about this election is not about the election of a black, it is about the election of a potential enemy of the state. The public that elected this dangerous radical to the highest office in the land is a public that is the result of Billy Ayers education system; one that does not know history or understand the founding of the United States, one that cannot critically analyse information, and one that can be brainwashed. I suspect that now the entire nation will suffer for their stupidity. Further, the blacks will continue to be just as racist next year as they were on November 3, 2008; these people have spent a lifetime nursing grievances and grousing about events that happened 150 years ago. This 'victimization mentality' is who they have become because it gives them a reason for surly, offensive, irresponsible behavior. I am glad, Dennis, that you consider this pretender to be your president, but he will never be mine and I intend to extend to him and his family the very same degree of respect that was shown George Bush and his family.

Mr. Prage
