Man Arrested by UK Anti-terrorism Police After Deportation From Turkey

A 21-year-old man, one of nine members of the same family detained earlier this month in Turkey on suspicion of trying to illegally enter Syria, was arrested by British police on his return to his homeland on Tuesday. West Midlands Police said the man, named by media as Waheed Ahmed, the son of a local counselor in Rochdale, northern England, was held by detectives at Birmingham Airport on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism. The nine Britons were held by Turkish security forces on the Turkish side of the Syrian border on April 1.
