Sen. Collins: Trump Should Take Down The Tweet About The Far-Left, Anti-Semitic Socialist Congresswomen

Sen. Collins: Trump Should Take Down The Tweet About The Far-Left, Anti-Semitic Socialist Congresswomen

Who knows whether or not GOP Senator Susan Collins meant to do this, but it seems she just became the most qualified person critical of President Trump's "go back" tweets to put his comments on Sunday into proper perspective while highlighting the fact that these Congresswomen indeed support anti-American policies.

Maine's sole Republican Senator issued a statement Monday, saying, "I disagree strongly with many of the views and comments of some of the far-left members of the House Democratic Caucus, especially when it comes to their views on socialism, their anti-Semitic rhetoric, and their negative comments about law enforcement..."

Sen. Collins is pointing to the reality that Rep. Ocasio-Cortez has compared Border Patrol officers to Nazi prison guards and Rep. Ilhan Omar's comments warranted a full condemnation from the House this past spring. Even Ayanna Pressley, who is also part of this progressive squad, has made arguably racist comments towards white women, like last week when she called White House advisor Kellyanne Conway "Distraction Becky." Becky is a derogatory term for white women.

However, Sen. Collins clarified that "the President's tweet that some members of Congress should go back to the 'places from which they came' was way over the line, and he should take down."

In short, Sen. Collins, without being obnoxious and averting condemning President Trump, is forcing the left to recognize that the actions and words from these Democratic members should be criticized and fought against. Now, if the mainstream media will run the full quote, then perhaps Sen. Collins' statement will have an impact with disaffected Democratic voters.
