You Gotta Check Out This Aerial View Of Los Angeles Celebrating The Fourth of July

Thursday was Independence Day which meant millions of Americans across the land celebrated the country's freedom with barbecue, spending time with family, and of course fireworks. While the "Salute to America" rally in Washington, DC was very impressive in its own right, one of the neatest videos of the night came from a Los Angeles Times reporter via Twitter. Matt Hamilton was lucky (and generous) enough to share what the City of Angels looked like from a bird's eye view as hundreds of people celebrated with fireworks below.

It should be noted that fireworks, except for authorized events, are illegal in Los Angeles. But, as Young America's Foundation spokesperson Spencer Brown pointed out, that did not stop people from realizing Thomas Jefferson's dream of celebrating the Fourth of July coast to coast.
