Senate to Vote at Noon on Monday to Reopen Government

The United States Senate will vote at noon on Monday to try and reach the votes needed to reopen the government reports Reuters. Senate leaders canceled a planned 1:00 am vote. Instead, it is expected that the vote at noon will be reopen the government until at least February 8th

“It would be my intention to proceed to legislation that would address DACA, border security and related issues. It is also my intention to take up legislation on increased defense spending, disaster relief and other important matters,” Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on the Senate floor.

The federal government has been shutdown since 12:01 am Saturday after Democrats refused to vote for any bill that did not address DACA recipients.
