Nevada's Democratic delegation is playing a cynical game of political sleight of hand—and voters should be paying close attention. Reps. Steven Horsford, Susie Lee, and Dina Titus are now proudly celebrating the “No Tax on Tips” provision included in the One Big Beautiful Bill, despite the inconvenient truth: they all voted against it.

That hasn’t stopped them from trying to rewrite the story. The trio even sent a letter to the Treasury Department demanding swift implementation of the provision, with Horsford boasting on social media that “The Trump admin listened to @repdinatitus, @RepSusieLee & me.” This is the same tax relief they tried to block. Their letter admits that hospitality, food service, and custodial workers must be included or else “the deduction’s intended goal” would be undermined. The irony is lost on no one—except, apparently, on them.

This is not an isolated incident. Susie Lee has already been caught taking credit for a defense-related provision in the same bill, despite also voting against it. Now she’s attempting the same bait-and-switch with tax relief for tipped workers. The hypocrisy is not just frustrating—it’s blatant.

Even Dina Titus couldn’t avoid tripping over her own explanation. She told Punchbowl News that “selling” their position to voters is “a challenge” because “if you’re explaining, you’re backing up.” She’s right—and their backpedaling is in full view.

Christian Martinez, spokesman for the NRCC, summed it up clearly.

“Out of touch Democrats Steven Horsford, Dina Titus, and Susie Lee are the political equivalent of arsonists taking credit for calling the fire department. They voted against tax relief for Nevada’s workers, and now they’re shamelessly pretending to be its champions. It’s a tired pattern of hypocrisy: oppose the bill, lose, and then try to steal credit for its wins. Nevadans deserve better than frauds who vote no and brag yes," he said.

This isn’t leadership—it’s damage control. Nevada’s working-class families deserve representatives who fight for them, not opportunists who fight for headlines.
