DeSantis Bids a Farewell to Biden By Sending Him a Retirement Card

In an effort to rid the White House of President Joe Biden, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla) is anticipating the 80-year-old's retirement on January 20th, 2025.

DeSantis is inviting his millions of supporters to sign a retirement card for Biden "to send our well wishes before he goes on his way."

The card will be delivered to the White House, noting that Biden's retirement will be on January 20th, 2025, when DeSantis expects to take over the Oval Office.

"Biden has been running our country into the ground since he took office, and Gov. DeSantis is ready to send him on a nice retirement trip back to his basement in Delaware," DeSantis's campaign email read.

The GOP presidential candidate is counting down the days until Biden's farewell, sending a card to remind him that his days in office are limited.

"While Gov. DeSantis travels across the country, hitting multiple states a day, doing the work of an energetic executive, Joe Biden has stayed in two states: delusion and confusion. It's time we send him home," the email continues.

After several reports revealed DeSantis's campaign is doing a 360, the governor appeared on CNN for a sit-down interview with Jake Tapper— after criticizing former President Trump's many appearances on liberal media outlets.

He dismissed the harsh reality that shows he is trailing far behind Trump in the polls, saying he is running to win in caucuses and primaries in January and February rather than to lead in polling now.

He also called out the 45th president for focusing too much on the past, praising his campaign for thinking about the future of the U.S.

"If I'm the nominee, we'll be able to focus on President Biden's failures, and I'll be able to articulate a positive vision for the future," DeSantis told Tapper. “I don’t think it serves us good to have a presidential election focused on what happened four years ago."

DeSantis is expected to focus most of his campaign efforts on Iowa, which is viewed as a must-win state for the governor after his super PAC rolled out a new ad this week highlighting Trump's recent criticism of the state's governor, Kim Reynolds (R).

DeSantis's current strategy has gotten him well ahead of other GOP candidates playing the field, making him Trump's top 2024 rival.
