"She Wore Her Dead Sister's Teeth"

Of all the ludicrous things Democrats had to say this morning, perhaps Rep. Louise Slaughter takes the cake for the most ridiculous:

"You will not believe this and I know you won't, but it's true. Her sister died. This poor woman had no dentures. She wore her dead sister's teeth, which of course were uncomfortable and did not fit."

Well, Rep. Slaughter is right about one thing: I don't believe it.  Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe dentures are already covered under Medicaid.  Further, there's no mention of any kind of dental coverage in any of the Democrats' current proposals.  So what exactly are we to take away from this, Rep. Slaughter?
