RIP: Air America

Liberals' attempt to counter the conservative talk radio powerhouse--Air America--is closing its doors after just over 5 years on the air.  The network once played host to liberal commentators like the

illustrious Al Franken and the brilliant Rachel Maddow.  With such talent, it's hard to imagine why Air America is now having to file for liquidation under Chapter 7!
"The very difficult economic environment has had a significant impact on Air America's business. This past year has seen a `perfect storm' in the media industry generally," the company said in a statement on its Web site.
That's funny... I don't think conservative talkers are experiencing the same kind of problems Air America has faced in this "very difficult economic environment."  In fact, I think Rush, Beck, Hannity and others are enjoying some of their highest ratings. 

Just a guess here, but perhaps the people weren't buying the stuff Air America was selling...
