CNN's Skewed Poll Results Show Jump for Obama

Just when you think the mainstream media couldn't stoop any lower... Their lack of coverage on news items like ousted green jobs czar Van Jones' history is one thing, but now CNN is actually

purposefully skewing poll results to favor President Obama.

Following Obama's speech before a joint session of Congress Wednesday night, CNN polled viewers and found that "2 out of 3 Americans who watched the president speak now favor his health care plan--a 14-point gain among speech-watchers."

Sixty-seven percent of people questioned in the survey say the support Obama's health care reform proposals that the president outlined in his address, with 29 percent opposed. Those figures are almost identical to a poll conducted immediately after Bill Clinton's health care speech before Congress in September, 1993.

The audience for the speech appears to be more Democratic than the U.S. population as a whole. Because of this, the results may favor Obama simply because more Democrats than Republicans tune into the speech. The poll surveyed the opinions of people who watched Wednesday night's speech, and does not reflect the views of all Americans.

Der, ya think?  Most professional pollsters would throw out results that are this heavily skewed because it's not a FAIR poll.  But not CNN!

About one in seven people who watched the speech changed their minds on Obama's health care plan. "Going into the speech, a bare majority of his audience — 53 percent — favored his proposals. Immediately after the speech, that figure rose to 67 percent," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland...

Seven in 10 say that Obama's policies will move the country in the right direction, up 10 points from before the speech.

HEALTH CARE

Ok, anyone who has studied political science could tell you SOMETHING is wrong with this picture.  The president's approval numbers on health care have been falling for weeks and with one speech they suddenly ascend by double-digits?  A logical person would be skeptical (to say the least), but other MSM outlets didn't hesitate to run with the numbers, including AP, MSNBC and the Washington Post which at least cautioned its readers to take the poll results "with a grain of salt."

Apparently none of these news outlets saw anything wrong with the fact that the poll's sample consisted of 45% Democrats and only 18% Republicans--a 2:1 advantage for the president, his party and his lousy health care policy.
