Earlier this month, noted anti-Trump commentator Jonah Goldberg shared that he’d been speaking with other Republicans who can’t stand the former president. Yet, Joe Biden’s shambolic agenda is pushing them toward the MAGA camp. Biden’s cutting off arms shipments to Israel is a major point of contention with this core. It’s entirely anecdotal, but it’s something to watch given Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in the sham hush money trial in Manhattan. And lo and behold, the dam has broken anecdotally.
If you didn’t know who these people were, they made their outrage known on social media yesterday:
Fwiw. I’ve heard from a LOT of reliably anti-Trump people - I mean really, really, anti-Trump people - who have had it with Biden tonight. Anecdotal, to be sure. But very telling in my circle.

My phone is blowing up.

This guilty verdict against Trump is backfiring.
Spectacularly.
As @Article3Project predicted.
Biden Democrats don't yet appreciate how they poked the bear.
People who are tired of Trump--even who don't like him--are outraged.
And all in for Trump.
Fine. I guess I’m MAGA now.

Breaking news: Donald Trump just won my vote. Not because of him. Despite him. My vote is against the people who destroyed my faith in our judicial system

I hate Trump, but man. This is absolute bullshit.

I hate Trump, but these guilty verdicts are an abomination and a very dark day for America.

Through two primaries and two general elections I have never voted for Trump. I would crawl over broken glass to vote for him now.

I’m very clearly no fan of Donald Trump, but I also don’t want to live in a world where every president leaves office only to face a pile of lawsuits and indictments. We are dangerously close to living in that world.

Have gotten several texts like this. No idea if this effect will counteract whatever negative impact the verdict will have on voters who can’t pull the lever for a convicted felon. Time will tell. https://t.co/9btbDr5ogk

I’m voting for Trump.
— Ron Rule (@ronrule) May 30, 2024
I don’t even like him.
I’m just tired of the left. Tired of DEI & gun laws & tax hikes & climate nonsense & billions to foreigners.
I’m not voting for the man. I’m voting for the pissed off bull-in-a-china-shop who wants to burn DC to the ground.
Not all these people will support Trump, but there has been notable outrage over the whole trial, which reflects the polling. Most Americans don’t think the former president could get a fair trial and see right through the Left’s lawfare with this hush money ploy. It’s also backfiring tremendously. Trump hasn’t only gone up in the polls since this cockamamie trial began.
For most of the country, whatever the outcome isn’t going to change their minds come November. As CNN put it, the country doesn’t care. What people do care about is the rule of law, and most see this legal action by Bragg to be a political operation aimed at trying to damage and jail Joe Biden’s political opponent.

Jonathan Turley reacts to the strange and sudden reversal of a verdict announcement after the courtroom was told that jurors would NOT reach a verdict today.

Just heard @JonathanTurley say the jury did not even specify what the “second crime” was on their verdict. Wow. What a complete travesty.
