FAFO: Watch What Happens When a Pro-Palestinian Protester Hurls Death Threats at Public Officials

AP Photo/Matt Rourke

Local politics is often more intense and contentious than what happens at the federal level. It doesn't get the coverage since national newspapers have cut these departments over the years, among other things. Yet, that doesn't mean sparks don't fly, especially in liberal enclaves, which have become hotbeds for pro-terrorist advocacy. In this case, a woman who went on an unhinged rant in front of the city council in Bakersfield, California, learned some lessons about First Amendment rights and death threats the hard way.

Meet Riddhi Patel, 28, went apoplectic after the council refused to back a Gaza ceasefire resolution. Lady, Bakersfield doesn't dictate national policy, nor could it stop the war in Gaza. Patel is a woman in need of getting a grip because she took to the podium to deliver death threats against the elected body—a big no-no regarding free speech rights. You can't hurl death threats, and your feelings don't shield you from the consequences. Ms. Patel faces over a dozen charges due to this stunt and cried at her arraignment (via Fox News):

An anti-Israel protester wept as a judge arraigned her in California on Friday after she allegedly threatened to murder public officials at a city council meeting.

Riddhi Patel, 28, sobbed as she pleaded not guilty to 18 felony counts after she directed comments to Bakersfield city council members and Republican Mayor Karen Goh for not backing a Gaza cease-fire resolution against Israel and for installing metal detectors at city hall.

Patel was ordered to be held on $1 million bail and stay at least 500 yards away from city hall.

She messed around and found out. And yet, it's liberal America peddling the false narrative that conservatives are the violent ones. There are more like Ms. Patel in our cities, classrooms, and college campuses, willing to kill to save Hamas.

Let her rot in jail for the time being.
