It’s a bit old, but victories against the woke mob are worth mentioning, even if the event has already happened. Jordan Poyer, safety for the Buffalo Bills, was set to host a charity golf event in Florida, but there was a problem.
Some sponsors learned about the location: Trump Doral in Miami.

That development led to a sponsor exodus, initially causing Poyer to cancel the event in late June. It was a personal blow, too. Poyer has gone on record saying that golf is helping him in his recovery from alcohol addiction. It was a charity event, folks. Relax. Fortunately, common sense prevailed in this dispute, and Poyer responded perfectly.
Days after he canceled the event, it was back on. It occurred on July 10 (via NBC Sports):
Jordan Poyer’s charity golf tournament at a golf course owned by Donald Trump is off. Unless it isn’t.
A week after Poyer canceled the event due to backlash for scheduling it at a property owned by the polarizing former president, Poyer has decided to go through with it.
Via Tim O’Shei of the Buffalo News, Poyer’s representatives announced on Friday that the cancellation has been canceled, and that the July 10 outing will happen at the Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami.
“The Jordan Poyer Celebrity Open has been resumed and is scheduled to take place on July 10 at the Blue Monster course,” the statement declared.

“I’m trying to put the sides away,” Poyer said regarding the clear divide that still exists between those who love and those who loathe the former president. “Let’s talk about me and you. Let’s talk about us. Let’s come together, regardless of what side you’re on.”

Jordan Poyer from the Buffalo Bills had to cancel his charity golf tournament because of liberal sponsors pulling out due to it being hosted at Trump Doral.

It’s now July 20. No pitchforks have been grabbed. It’s as if people who initially pulled out of the golf tournament might have misread the tea leaves or that personal animus toward the former president clouded judgments. It might be a little bit of both. The drama was unnecessary as the tournament could have occurred, and no woke mob would have gone after the sponsors. If anything, they would have targeted Poyer, who remains on the Buffalo Bills’ roster. The whole league is gearing up for training camp as the start of the 2023 season is weeks away.

It was just golf, folks. How long is this whining over Trump going to last? It’s a rhetorical question. We all know that answer: as long as the Democratic Party exists.
