You’d think that in the time of a pandemic, the liberal media would be, I don’t know—better. Yeah, no. It’s still bad. In fact, it may be worse in the sense that these clowns are now peddling Chinese communist propaganda; does anyone really think China hasn’t seen any more Wuhan coronavirus deaths? Does anyone really believe that? It doesn’t matter. It makes Trump look bad, so share it. For CBS News, they decided to go for the gold, peddling a story about a nurse, Imaras Veras, who claims to have quit her job because of the lack of personal protection equipment in the hospitals and how America is unprepared. Her video was shared by Sen. Bernie Sanders. It’s made the rounds, and it’s not accurate. The Federalist delivered the kill shot on this [emphasis mine]:
In tears, a nurse says she quit her job after she was asked to work in a coronavirus ICU without a face mask: “America is not prepared, and nurses are not being protected” https://t.co/ywoSuLOPYP pic.twitter.com/S5BsnlO5nt— CBS News (@CBSNews) April 5, 2020
“America is not prepared, and nurses are not being protected,” said the ICU nurse in the video. “I quit my job today. I went into work and I was assigned to a COVID patient on an ICU unit that has been converted to a designated COVID unit. None of the nurses are wearing masks.”
Prior to CBS picking up this video, Imaris posted on her public Facebook page that she has anxiety and bi-polar depression and had not been an employee at the hospital for over a year. She mentioned in her post that she was unsure if she was ready to return to her job.
Imaris Vera, the nurse in this video, clarified her experience on Monday in a tweet: "We were each assigned 1 N95 per 1 covid patient’s room but was not allowed to wear it outside of the room, wear our own N95 mask around the Nurses station or Halls, which I came prepared with."— CBS News (@CBSNews) April 6, 2020

Yeah, the timelines don’t match and now the facts are fuzzy. CBS has to issue a clarification (via NY Post):
CBS issued a statement from Vera in a follow-up tweet Monday.
“We were each assigned 1 N95 per 1 covid patient’s room but was not allowed to wear it outside of the room, wear our own N95 mask around the Nurses station or Halls, which I came prepared with,” Vera said, according to CBS.
Several hours later, the broadcaster followed up on the report with another tweet about Vera’s job status.
“The hospital, Northwestern Medicine, acknowledged that Imaris Vera had quit her job, but referred CBS News to Vera as to the details of why,” the outlet tweeted.
Despite the questions surrounding Vera’s claims, the footage, which has more than 8.5 million views, has not been deleted from CBS’ Twitter page as of Tuesday afternoon.
People are so eager to believe in victimhood and wrongdoing that stories like this get published without question. Any decent reporter should have vetted this outlandish story.— Dan Crenshaw (@DanCrenshawTX) April 6, 2020
But facts don’t get the clicks, outrage does.https://t.co/MF7VwBq9Cs
This doesn’t seem thoroughly vetted enough. It’s shoddy journalism to just take one person’s side of the story and present it as the full story. Did CBS News find out where this nurse worked and if her story even checked out before posting this? https://t.co/snjnvxVGDK— Siraj Hashmi (@SirajAHashmi) April 6, 2020
Video popularized by CBS of a crying nurse who said she was assigned to care for a patient without PPE went viral. Not disclosed was her having severe mental health issues. CBS has now had to issue a clarification after her claim was shown to be misleading https://t.co/9m2P7yWZjQ— Andy Ngo (@MrAndyNgo) April 6, 2020
What a train wreck, but remember—if anything appears to hurt Trump or make his administration or the Wuhan coronavirus task force look bad—these enemies of the people will post it.
Oh, and there's this corollary rule as well:
It is a law of nature for liberals to automatically defend something that Trump opposes, even if it's the W.H.O. mishandling the current pandemic because they're beholden to China. pic.twitter.com/LIyswGG9nK— Julio Rosas (@Julio_Rosas11) April 7, 2020
