CNN Democratic Debate: I Bet Joe Biden Is Not Happy Over His Debate Night Selection

Well, the wait is over if there ever was one. CNN has finally selected which candidates will participate in their two-day debate later this month. This clown car still has 15+ candidates, so there will have to be some divvying up…again. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) won’t be around because he was the first candidate to drop out. Former Colorado Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper is also supposedly on life support. He’s running low on funds and even aides had advised him to bow out a month ago. The man has no constituency, but it’s 2020. Obama is gone. The Clintons are gone. And everyone thinks they can win the nomination or at least be part of the conversation, hence the bizarre but wildly entertaining candidacy of Marianne Williamson, an anti-vaxxer. You’d think this was like the NFL draft concerning who will be selected on which days. CNN wasted no time with this absurd exercise. The liberal anti-Trump network drew the players and now the slots are filled.

On Tuesday, July 30, Sen. Liz Warren (D-MA) and Sen. Bernie Sanders will duke it out over who is truly the leader of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. Robert Francis O’Rourke will probably dole out some more Spanglish, with Mayor Pete Buttigieg possibly doing his introductory remarks in one of the five languages he speaks. Sanders reportedly has no interest in attacking Warren, but he appears to be using the same game plan from four years ago which was solid…for ending up as the runner-up in 2016, according to former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell. He needs to attack if he wants to be serious about winning.

On July 31, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) will have another chance to deliver haymakers to former Vice President Joe Biden, who is still the frontrunner, though his position has been considerably weakened. Bill de Blasio will offer more trash views on economics and cultural issues, Jay Inslee can elaborate about how Megan Rapinoe can deal with the Iran crisis as secretary of state, and Julian Castro can detail how biological males can have abortions. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) will give an Emmy-award worthy performance as usual. The line-up is primed for chaos. Let’s see what happens.
